Since Saturday the muzzel loading hunting season has been open in Washington state GMU 121, which just happens to be where I live.
This year I decided to go hunting and invited a friend from Everet Washington.
After 3 days of hunting and coming up with nothing my friend baged a 4 point buck this morning. (that would be an 8 pointer to you east coast types.)
We have until monday of next week to fill my tag.
Just thought I would share.

You can find this in the sporting goods department. That's right, this sweet baby was made in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Retails for about a hundred and nine, ninety five. It's got a walnut stock, cobalt blue steel, and a hair trigger. That's right. Shop smart. Shop S-Mart. You got that?
I wanna make a solo Quest series with Ash one day.
You make it sound easy. Don't forget that Deer also have a move of 15 and you gotta have line of sight. You won't get that if they see you first. Are you setting up in a blind in the wee hours, going on foot, or something else?

Is there anything to worry about in wild meat? I'm thinking that it might be a healthier than eating the antibiotic, steroid induced, mass-raised stuff you get in the supermarket.
Only problem would be that you would have to cook it damn thoroughly to ensure there's no parasite eggs left alive...

We are not useing a blind. We are going out before sunrise and using the terain to our advantage. If it was any doe or two point or better we would have filled our tags on day one. But as it is a 4 point or better requirement we have to be patient and hope we find one of them. We have been lucky enough to find one already and harvest him. There is a six pointer somewhere on the property I am hoping to bag before Friday when my partner leaves. I will still have 3 more days after he leaves to find a good buck.
(We only count one side in Washington state, so double that to get the actual count of points)
Yes cook all wild harvested game thouroughly to kill off any potential parasites. And yes the natural meat tends to be of higher quality than the store bought meats.

Is it bad that I had to read Cynthi's post twice to realize she wasn't talking about a hunter class? Or anything RPG related at all! XD

Thats rich.
Just gave me an idea for a forest type quest where you have to feed the village or starve. However the deer in the forest are gaurded by crafty druids, dryads and forest spirits.

1.5 days left to hunt.
My partner in hunting has gone home a sucessful hunter. He was nice and shared the meat with me and I got the hide. He kept the antlers.
Now I have a large amount of venison already in the freezer the worry that there will be no wild game for the winter is gone. Now I can just walk the forest and relax. If I fill my tag it will just be a bonus to an already good hunting season.
