And a whole lotta cash.

Someone had the Aussie HQ set on eBay, base game, RotWL, KK and AtOH.

Thought I might have had a chance, but someone sniped in the last 5 seconds of the bidding war.

We were bumping bids by a few dollars each time in the last minute.
i put my last bid of $170 with 10 seconds to go, got rejected as last bid win was $172.50.
Final winner paying $252.50 for all.

Way out of my price range, but a pretty good buy with how much AtOH sells for on its own normally.

Will have to keep watching the skies....or eBay at least.

Wow. I had a simular experience one time while bidding. I was bidding on a huge lot of 250 thousand Magic the Gathering cards. The bidder and I were neck and neck up till the last second. I think my final bid was around $1,400.00 and his was $1,401.00. I was like holy crap really? Lost by a single dollar. I was getting a better deal because the guy selling the cards was local and I wouldn't have to pay shipping, the guy who won the auction lived in Montana and would have to pay another three or four hundred for shipping. In the end, the buyer never paid for the cards, so I sent an email to the guy selling the cards telling him I would buy the cards at my final bid and the jerk replied in a nasty email telling me no. He ended up relisting the cards and only got $800 the second time around.

Yeah... the thing is with something like these board games...
You see a near mint set in the past and notice how much it goes for.
You are NOT gonna get lucky and swipe it at a bargain in the last minute. That's just not gonna happen...
Someone else just as dedicated as you with way more cash to burn will win it at $252
The fact that it was so much higher than your bid just proves he wasn't the only rich bastard bidding.

Miniature games collecting is a rich boys hobby...

I always use a last-second-tool when bidding at eBay. If I do it earlier then the others are just warned and are prepared to invest more money. It's not fair but I don't want a rich kid to bid just my price +50 in order to be sure... so I don't give them that chance and stay under cover to the last second.
Earned me an HQ for 95 Euro with ATOH and wizards of Morcar and Kellar's Keep. Just after I was buying the wizards of Morcar from Billdask. Now they're double.

As much a s I want AtOH, I cant justify $252 for it. My wife would have an fit.

I scored some AHQ hero miniatures, with some other white Warhammer pieces. Deciding whether to paint them player red, or leave em as white and grey and use em for undead variations or make changes to my HQ chess set.
If I didnt have kids, I'd have more cash.
But then, I'm buying the stuff to play with the kids, so would defeat the purpose.
That reminds me.....need to ask Bill something.

Sahweeeet! Someone posted an AtOH on eBay with buyout of $160, with $10.90 shipping.

No box, but everything else is there. Bought! No waiting. Just organising money to have enough in PayPal.

Exactly what I was happy to pay for the other one.

Late Christmas present for me. Yay!

Even $250 is not bad. you could probably sell the other expansions on Amazon for $100 each, get your money back.

I'd planned to do that, but didnt have the $250 to outlay anyway. But doesnt matter now, got AtOH yesterday.

I do need an original KK book though. The expansion I got had photocopied version.

Ive seen original book, AtOH book, even RotWL book on eBay. Just never KK book.
But I can be patient!
