It has been many moons since I visited Ye Olde Inn, and with an account I no longer remember. Twas a time of childhood glee and inexperienced promises. With the re-release of the best game of all time and my age and income having increased, I hath gathered my original, released, expansions and every game similar (read Dragon Strike, D&D Board Game, Descent, Dragon Quest) and a large number of tomes of information to re-approach the challenge that was once set forth.

In short, I was making a video game inspired by Heroquest 15 years ago, and it - like my life - fizzled. However, I have returned with a great deal more experience to attempt again, a Heroquest inspired video game - named Tap Tap Dungeon

The game is very early on, only two quests currently available. My aim is to make it something similar (but for legal reasons not the same) as Heroquest, playable and optimized for mobile device but available on Desktop aswell.

At this early stage I ask your help, to test and evaluate the feel of movement and rules.

You can find the game at https://taptapdungeon.com/play

Cheers

Welcome back! I'm digging the retro game vibe so far. You're not only tributing HeroQuest but there are those (now being delisted sadly from Steam) Warhammer Quest games... I guess there is still "Dark Quest" doing something similar. But how many fan tributes can you have to a good thing? Always room for another, especially if it's your dream!

It's a small thing but the spiral staircase looks suspiciously like that "ink drawing" filter from various paint programs. If that wasn't your intention maybe a little tweak to its appearance is in order. The little info screens for each hero look great, but if this is going to be available in a mobile format (hopefully not the only format) probably some kind of "larger view" to zoom in on those numbers would be in order, as they would be very tiny for a phone user I bet.

Best of luck with this interesting project!

I'm guessing a "Mouse over" view that gives additional info (like "book case") or something.

Thanks for checking it out!

The game is really designed with mobile phone in mind, so things scale and become appropriate (responsive) to mobile screen size. This is what it looks like on a iPhone SE.

Mouse over is actually done yet, it's a good idea though. Not thinking enough about desktop players.
