High Adventure in a World of Magic

Hello!

Just posted my first quest report on my new blog and its..........The Maze!
Not the most exciting quest I know but we all have to start somewhere. I'm hoping to get through all the expansions and published quests, as well as a ton of stuff I've found here at the Inn. I've got a big HQ collection so i'll gradually be adding extra monsters, heroes, spells, equipment, tiles, boards, storyline etc.
I'll post my progress on this thread. Here's a teaser for now;

I'm getting a couple of editing issues with the blog so some of the posts look a bit weird, hopefully this will get ironed out as I go along.
I have quite a few quests played already and just have to write them up. I'm running the original system quests at the same time as Chronicles of Sir Ragnar, as some of these quests overlap chronologically.
Should be fun. Enjoy!

The next quest is up on the blog, its a variant of Prince Magnus' Gold. Which I am now renaming Gulthor the Great, after what happened in the quest :D

The Rescue of Sir Ragnar was skipped for a bit, as I'll write up the first two quests of another Quest pack 'The Chronicles of Sir Ragnar' first, then have the Heroes try to rescue him.
Hope you enjoy reading, comments welcome.

A Hero dying with an unused healing spell! sacrilege. The team should be looking for a new Elf as well!

Nice report. I like that you have increased the difficulty of the early quests. The start, if you don't (and shouldn't) begin with The Trial, can be quite easy with the Heroes soon up to a strength that makes the later quests even easier.

Makes me long for the time when I used to play with my wife and a couple we knew. They split up and it all stopped, but then her new partner loved HQ as well and we started again, then it all finished when they moved away years ago. Now it's just me and my bro. Great fun, but nothing really beats HQ with a full group.

The Elf actually gets worse. The guy playing him has now decided to keep the gold from the chest rather than returning it to P Magnus!

Maybe he's really a Dark Elf. Prince Magnus would probably like his style.

Hmm, the notes specifically don't allow the Heroes to keep the gold. I know I wouldn't allow it. As you haven't played the quests in order, Magnus could perhaps recoup his losses by not paying the Elf for his share in the reward for his rescue, and killing Ulag. That would recoup 105gc to put against the debt! Or perhaps he just doesn't pay the Heroes for his rescue and tells them to get their share off the Elf. That would still leave the Elf 10gc up for his initiative.

Rather than reply here there was a whole big discussion on this topic;

where we discussed whether or not to, er, outlaw the outlaw's.

The next quest, The Outpost at the Mountain Base, is up

Can Sir Ragnar and his small band of soldiers claim an important outpost from Ulag's forces?

Perhaps you can recap your thoughts on the Sir Ragnar Quests in the The Chronicles of Sir Ragnar room for the benefit of anyone also interested.
