assuming they are staying with four players in a game (5 with a player representing Zargon/Morcar) which of the original four heroes would you drop in favor of playing one of the newly designed characters the Druid, Warlock or Orc Bard, and why?
(really, why? in the case of the orc bard)

there is no indications that they would add rules to the effect of increasing the number of adventurers in the party which would necessitate increasing the number of monsters/traps and overall difficulty. So that means either the Dwarf :dwarf: Wizard :wizard: Elf :elf: or Barbarian :barbarian: gotta stay home in favor of one of the new characters...
personally I dont see that happening in any of my games, none would be a better or even adequate replacement

Personally I wouldn't want to drop any of the original heroes. I'd sooner play with the original 4 then disgrace the team with a Bard or Warlock.
But if I had to choose, it would be the Elf. The team needs a tank, the Barbarian. None of these new characters can disarm traps the way a Dwarf does, so he's safe. The Wizard still has more spells then any of the new characters, even though he's physically the weakest his spells can be Game Changers.
The Elf is just an intermediary between the Wizard and Barbarian, he has the best of both worlds. I don't want to be without a tank or an exceptional spell caster, so reluctantly I'd have to give up the Elf. Even though we can't use his 3 spells with him out of the game, the Druid and Warlock comes with spells of their own that somewhat cushions the blow.

Go team 3 spells and run Bard, Druid, Elf, and Warlock.
