Are these forums still active? There are a few people still making posts over there but most of the posts are from 6 to 8 years ago. If there are people there, can't we get them over here if the forums are dead?

I saw this on the old forum and thought it was worth posting for discussion...
***rules***
Monsters with different weapons:
Goblins with Straight Swords act the same as the game description
Goblins with Axes can now throw their axes
Goblins with Curved Swords can attack diagonally
Orcs with regular swords can attack diagonally
Orcs with ball & chains can attack from 1 square away or diagonally
Orcs with butcher knives can throw the knives
Orcs with Notched Swords can attack with 3 dice (as if they are equipped with broad swords)
The Gargoyle: we decided that the gargoyles move stats differ if we keep his wings on or not. in some quests we took them off.
With out his wings he has the regular move stats, WITH his wings he moves up to 12 and can hover above heroes allowing him immunity to melee attacks.
Skeletons can attack diagonally
Zombies can throw their butcher knives

That's from Phoenix's site, isn't it? He certainly is a member here. In fact, he's an Innkeeper, our behind-the-scenes administrator. I figure other readers would have found out or will find out about the Inn as drathe and Phoenix posted about it's inception there. Of course, you could always join there and make your own Inn announcement.

The more I have thought about it, the more that I think that the monster's weapons and armour should be the basis of combat and defence dice, rather than treated as some kind of racial/species ability, with the exception of tough hide/skin adding to the defense. It mostly works with the base creatures.

Out of interest, how many HQ forums are there? I'm aware of Pheonix's and Old Scratch's but I only frequent here.

Using English and even slightly active? That's it, as far as I know.
I know that the German forum is running, though creatively standing still, and that the Italian and Spanish forums are active.

You could also include the
Hero Quest entry at Boardgamegeek, even though it isn't an independent site. It has a forum which sees several new posts a month.

I actually tried to find as many of these as I could - and from my experience, only Ye Olde Inn sees any serious regular forum action.
Old Scratch's Forum is probably the only other serious contender besides the Inn as far as discussing HQ goes,
the boardgamegeek site has some posts but they are fewer and further between than the above two.
and there a few people on facebook dedicated to it with little fan pages but that's it.
Most other sites seem pretty quiet.
