This website has all sorts of music and sounds for gaming - I did a search for "fantasy" and it is telling me
there are 600 wav files for use for fantasy.

(in particular - the first page of results has one called whisper - pretty neat and creepy)

Enjoy peeps.

Some of those are pretty cool. Somewhere I have a wave player a guy made for Hero Quest-like games. Listening to some of the better files makes me think I should add to my player library when I have the time.

Soundcloud also has a LOT of atmospheric/dramatic background music and even some special effect music, like combat sounds and such. I know countless Roll20 GMs use the Soundcloud library to enhance their games' atmospheres. :D

I've been compiling a playlist of questing music for about a year now, and I think it's finally "complete" (at about 2.55 GB!)

I've pulled music from film scores, bandcamp, video games, etc. to try to create an atmospheric mix of dungeon crawling, adventure and tense survival horror. I call it the "24 Hour Dungeon Crawl."

I'm not sure if it's okay to publicly post links to a zip file of mp3s in this way, so you can PM me if you'd like my google drive link. If I get the okay, I will post a public link here.

Thanks for starting this thread! I think music is an important part of the gaming experience :)

I had, a long time ago, downloaded several mp3 noise files - crunching leaves and sticks, rain, wind...that sort of thing...
to use for playing. I really had not way of using them, though, since I couldn't take the laptop with me and had no other
way of playing them.
I have an ipod now, plus two different small tablets, and external portable speakers that simply recharge through a usb.
Playing sounds now would be very easy.

I was using the RPGSoundmixer a long time. Background sound from some computer games (Rain and such) plus Music.

What takes the longest is not finding the music, it is really compiling it to a usable list before using it. You can get old in the process. :D

That's why I say thank you A LOT for the 24 hours playlist!

Revisiting this old topic and found I missed a reply!
You're perfectly welcome, Anderas! Glad you like it :D
I haven't stopped compiling my playlist and now have over 3 days of dungeon-crawling tunes. I can get carried away!

So I wanted to post about this band, Barak Tor:

"Dungeon Synth music inspired by the legendary epic board games HeroQuest
and the Dark World Trilogy (Dragon Game System, Village of Fear, Dragon's Gate)."

Not only are they named after a quest in HQ, they have an album themed for WoM, and another HQ quest, lair of the Orc Warlord. Check 'em out!
