Usually, when we create new characters, we are choosing names the last minute before play and that’s because the names does not take any part in gameplay. I found this text in the AHQ rulebook and I think it’s very interesting.

Sometimes we don’t want to give too much gold in our quests but we also want to keep the players happy with some rewards. Maybe the “Titles” are a nice option. Also, sometimes the players are doing bad things (when you play with NPCs), and a title of evil alignment (until he does something good and heroic again), can be a reason to be more careful in their actions.

So, as GM, I will put some titles in my quests, and some of them will be as rewards for the players to write them down on their sheets and choose what they want. And others will be as a punishment and will be forced to use them until they do something good.

I don’t want to give any special bonuses on titles. But maybe a one-time use heroic brew, for example, could be nice.

I really like this idea. It's something that's never occured to me before. I will put titles into the quest notes.

I like this idea. I'm going to use it with my son. Just need to think of any ideas.
His Dwarf is called Finn.

I have told him he can be:

Finn Bonecrusher - when he kills 25 Skeletons
He wants to be 'Finn the destroyer of all undead creatures' - I've told him he can be called that when he has killed 50 undead creatures.

Now I need to think of some more names for killing the rest of the creatures.

Make sure that his 50th undead battle is against a boss (and epic)! :P

The last quest I’ve played as a player (with tasoe for GM), we are hunting orc heads for a quest. And to take the head, we had to do the last hit. For the first thought I was afraid that the orc counting could delay us, but it was not. Instead of that, this makes us to act selfish and thrown into battle clearing everything faster, because all we want to do the hit. (As a wizard I drink a lot of potions that day, even for defense... lol)

So, the title with monster counting is a great idea…

The English-speakers could help us a lot with titles… I am also want to hear some…

What about titles conferred in return for completing specific quests, for example a knighthood 'Sir' for rescuing a npc or defeating a certain boss? You could also make characters Earls, Lords etc.

I really like Bonecrusher. You probably can think of your own titles, but here are some more examples along those lines for anybody's use:

Goblinstomper
Orc-cleaver
Cyclops-scourge
Chaosbane
Gargoyleslayer
Ogrekiller
