Is THIS the Wizards quest pack?

I have all of the quest packs, and love them all. But I have one question: Is the Wizards of Morcar/Zargon quest pack the Wizard's character?
Barbarian= The frozen Horror
Elf= Mage in the Mirror
Dwarf= Dragon's Lair http://www.yeoldeinn.com/agins-archive/quests.html (Just keep scrolling down.)
Wizard=?
If not, do any of your recommend me making one? If so, should I introduce new spells?

Rumour has it that there was actually a Dwarf Quest Pack being developed by Milton Bradley US in the same vein as the Elf and Barbarian Packs. One would assume that there would have also been a Wizard Quest Pack developed in parallel. The Wizards of Morcar expansion released in Europe is not considered the Wizard Quest Pack, even though it comes with new spells picturing the Wizard character. In fact, the Elf too may choose from these spell sets. They are not Wizard exclusive (although I make them so when I play, since the Elf gets exclusive Elf Spells in the Mage of the Mirror).

If you would like to make a Wizard Pack, I say go for it! I'm sure we'd all like to have one. And yes, new spells would be a must in my book. Can't wait to see what you've got in mind.

Thanks for the info! It really did help.

Same here. It would be unfair if the elf gets the extra WOM Spells since they get their own Elf spells.

I might need some help making it...can you help me? I have no idea of how to make them look the way Phoenix does. Is there a tutorial?

Also, I know he's always in the quest packs and all, but I think Im going to add the Witch King. He is just too cool to leave out. But then again, he is in alot of quests. Should I add him?

I would like to know how you figure out the scale size for the cubes in a map.

Let's say you make a new room design. How do you size it so that the squares will print out to the correct dimensions?

Phoenix is extremely busy with work at the moment, but if you make the maps using HeroScribe and output them in .eps and have all the text done up in a document he may be able to compile them for you if'n when he finds time. Do you have Photoshop or a similar graphics program? If so, then you may be able to make use of the Design Tools page. If not, then I may be able to assist with cards during my limited spare time.

The Witch Lord certainly is a cool villain, but my suggestion would be to go with someone completely new. The Elf and Barbarian Packs don't follow any continuing storyline and are completely separate, thus can be played in any order. I personally would follow the same formula for a Wizard or Dwarf Pack. That's personal opinion only mind you.

The most approximate measurement for the average HQ square is 22.5mm.

The card helping would be a great big help; I could really use it. And I actually will NOT be using the Witch King, though he will be mentioned....
Anyway, can you contact the person who created the dwarf expansion pack in the older Yeoldeinn to ask their permission if that quest can be professionally made and put up for everyone? Phoenix has tried but with no luck.

And yes, I asked him if he could help me with that as well. I guarantee this quest pack will be pretty nice :D

Unfortunately, I too have been unable to contact Chaos Orc. I believe their email has gone to the cyber grave. We may eventually remake it since Chaos Orc is MIA, but we already have a lot of Quests in the queue that we have permissions for so it will be a long while. If your Wizard Quest Pack works out to your satisfaction, you may even decide to make one of your own. ;)

For cards, all I require is the text and possibly an image to use (or chose an image to reuse from the other HQ cards). If you would like a brand-new card back, we'll need to find an artist to assist as I'm not good with artwork. All we would need is a good image for the backs, I already have a template for the banner.

I'm not too pressed for card backs. I'll just have the card type on the top of the card, as done in necromancer's lair (Beautifully done by the way. It was great.). Aside from that, I'm all good. There is a website that has paper tokens used for monsters, and I'll ask the person who makes them if he will give me permission to use one of his token sheets. I doubt he will say no. I'll use them for the extra monsters I've added.

I can't wait for any new quests/quest packs. Maybe you could change the name and the monsters of the dwarf quest. If when you finish all of the available quests, could you make the dwarf one? I would if I knew how to. Any new quests would be nice!

Wizard's character pack ?
Dwarf= Kellar Keep (10 group adventures to play one after the other without coming back to town a hard one)
Wizard= Return of the Witch Lord (same)
Barbarian = The frozen Horror (3 solo quests & a hard adventure for the group)
Elf= Mage in the Mirror (3 solos quests & a hard adventure for the group)
Ogres = a group adventure pack of 7 quests very hard to do
Wizards of Morcar = the final conclusion of HQ for the heroes, a total impossible mission book never tested.

It's the order I play it here.
I'm agreed the 2 US packs don't follow the HQ storyline but it was a MB/GW USA attempt to renew interest by delivering the boardgame without the errors & main problems encountered in Europe & its several editions.
(3 editions of the maingame in france all different ah ah)

The karak varn/return of the witch lord didn't offer us new monsters, something we were expecting for but never came.
However 100 francs (15 dollars) was a good marketing price to please to the public.A low cost to expand the game.

AGAINT THE OGRE HORDE / WIZARDS OF MORCAR weren't release in some euro countries due to a bad organisation and internal problems between MB & GW at this time. GW wanted to win more money with their own game advanced heroquest & extension which was failure mainly due to the poor lot of figurines inside, the complicated rules, the absence of 3D furniture & the forced sale into specialized shops not in hypermarkets or supermarkets.
(heroquest was a huge title like risk monopoly, space crusade same)

So HASBRO is releasing the attack now 15 years after with 2 MEGABOX of D&D this year, one in few days the other in the end of the year. No need to know it is to stop Descent (FFG) the only dunjeon gameboard left on the shelves for years.
And no more GW on the way ...

Phoenix was actually able to track down and contact ChaosOrc. We have permission to recreate Dragon's Lair, the Dwarf Quest Pack. But that was a while ago... we've been working on the Quest Pack since and now... it's ready for download!
