How do you guys determine what line of sight is when a stairway is involved? I think you could not see if you're too many squares back from the top of the stairs.

Yes, for me, stairs, such as in the Spiral Passage, would block line of sight, until they get to the bottom stair they shouldn't be able to see further down the passage. I think it's the only use the stairs actually have.

That makes sense I guess if they are in a tunnel.

I have never used any los restrictions with stairs. They only represent the last or first 5 steps, so I just assume anyone on them can see and be seen. Anyone further up or down is not yet in sight and are not yet on the board.

That makes sense for the Game System, Admiral, but I meant the stairs in KK where they are in a corridor with monsters beyond. I assume the purpose other than "looks cool like tables in the room do" is some inherent line of sight disruption.

Ah, I get it now, the long narrow corridor stairs. Again I play no Los restrictions, as I assumed the corridor was sloping up or down in the same direction as the stairs. You could make los rules but you would have to establish what is up or down and at what point down the stairs a target dissapears from sight, and how far back from the top a target can't be seen from the bottom. too much effort for me!

The spiral passage, for example. I noticed the stairs weren't used as much as you'd think for them to make them a special tile.

Yes I got it when I started to look through the quest book. See my amended post above.

We ended up playing it with line of sight two squares ahead since the stairways look like there are platforms in between successive flights of stairs.
