I could be wrong - I understood the stats to be (1/2) x (1/2) x (1/2) = 1/8

and (1/6) x (1/6) x (1/6) = 1/216

I agree, I'm not certain to get a "Graveyard" after any number of rolls, but I should reasonably expect it within 16 - a rather "unlucky" night.
Neils DeGrasse Tyson once made a very interesting observation - if you have hundreds of people in a room, all flipping coins, and the tails get eliminated, sooner or later you will have only a few people - maybe even one - left who only flipped heads - over and over. Probability ~100% of them claiming to be "lucky".

All in all, this gambling set would be a great addition to any role playing game, and is definitely goin into mine!

* sorry for the double post, but the previous one didn't show up...I assumed I hadn't posted it...

I love how this observation points out - as a side effect - how the unwitting slaves among us don't know how to interpret things "happening" to them.
"Lucky" is the one first flipping a tail and then leaving to have a pint of ale and a sandwich. But... you know... that may be just me.

Interesting - I like the idea of gambling. Just the thought of running a scene in a tavern,
actually adding in the role-playing aspect of things, is always a good thing to me.

I do have a problem with your chart, though. Maybe I misread, but do you always roll 3 dice, or
do they choose to roll 2 dice, in order to try for the last two sets? I might suggest to simply get
rid of the two last sets, and keep the rolling for 3 dice at all times. That would keep things more
consistent, and keep the confusion to a minimum.

Good idea, though, and I like the presentation.

I'm pretty sure the idea behind Knight and Dragon is that as long as you roll at least two of that die's face, you get the payoff. That said, the pay for winning either is gimpy and undervalued, and the Heroes should never play either.
Also, the listed odds for those two sigils are off; Dragon is actually 2/27 rather than 5/72, while Knight is 7/27 rather than 2/9. Unless you're betting on rolling exactly two of a face, in which case it's time for Mohawk to go back to the tavern and start swindling people again. |_P

You do indeed roll 3 dice at all times. You'd bet on selected sigils before rolling, so if you bet on Dragon and rolled a Hydra, you'd only get paid for the Dragon.

Sorry, was so used to getting few or no replies I was turning all my attention to my play-by-post game.

Has this game been tested some more? Or used by other players?

I like the idea of adding a gambling element to my games, to give the players a new fun thing to spend their money on.

But I do want the house to win more often than not!
