turn off e-mail notifications

Hi, how can I turn off e-mail notifications for new posts to threads that I am subscribed to? When I go to my subscriptions section I can see what has new posts (and go directly to them) - I don't need and especially don't want e-mails for the same thing.

Probably a setting in the User Control Panel (link in the top left of the page)

Yes, that's what I thought, but I've been in there and played with the only setting that seems related (specifically under Board Preferences, "Notify me upon replies by default"), and it did nothing. I even set all the global settings for contact / e-mails to no and that did nothing either.

I think I've found the problem (but not the solution).

In the user control panel, under board preferences, there should be a fourth section called "edit notification options" under global settings, posting defaults, and display options, and that is indeed where you decide how you receive notifications.

So I wonder:

Is this an out-of-date version of phpBB?

Is this something that the site admins have disabled for users?

Something else entirely?

The Inn hasn't been upgraded to the latest pbpBB as it would have cost some of the Inn's features that drathe wasn't willing to lose.
