Hi all

Postby AGamerCalledDaz » June 21st, 2013, 2:52 pm

Hello everyone! I've just registered in here snd thought I'd say hello. I'm considering getting back into HeroQuest again soon. I played the game quite s bit as a kid and really enjoyed it. I'm also a big fan of mmo games on the PC. I get a real buzz when I run through a dungeon and collect all those shiny gold coins!

I found this website through a website that featured the HeroQuest PC game and thought I'd check it out.

Thanks!

Thanks all! I shall looking forward to using the forums here!

Just a quick question. Where would be a good choice to pick up the HeroQuest board game? Would ebay be a good place to look? Also is there a website for more HeroQuest PC games that can be purchased?

Thanks again!

eBay is the most obvious place to look.
Everything else might be cheaper but you'll also depend on quite an amount of dumb luck.

If I were you I'd first choose North American or UK/EU version because of the many rule differences.
Easier/more difficult?
Cooperative/competitive heroes?

Regarding pc games, there's only really one official game, and unless you are some sort of collector you don't no need to go looking to buy original disks.
You can find it on abandonia: http://www.abandonia.com/games/157
It's basically just the board game but on a screen instead of a board. Same monsters, quests and everything.
This game has been ported to C64, Amiga and NES (probably also amstrad and spectrum). For the C64 version there's also an expansion/sequel, Return of the Witch King which is the same as the board game expansion which shares the same name.

For the Amiga there's also a sequel of sorts, The Legasy of Sorasil.
This game expands a lot on the universe, but I consider it a spin off really. It has lots of heroes and monsters which are nowhere to be found in the board game.
