Alright so our Dnd/HQ game continued! Finally we played our Dnd version of Lair of the Orc Warlord. I changed the layout around because our group couldnt meet for a while and I figured the one I posted before could use some imrovements in terms of gameflow.

I am really getting into dnd! Its such an awesome game, bigtime storytelling, with the story written by the players through their decisions and actions along with the DM! Super creative and fun!

After having survived the caves of Ulag and having lost two players, our dwarf ventured down the winding staircase deeper into the caves all by himself. In the cave below the stairway he encountered two new players, a small halfling cleric and an elven rogue, who were both captured by the orcs and put into iron bar cages. After having rescued his new friends, the three of them ventured deeper into the dungeon, to find the mysterious farmers daughter, rescue her in time from the sacrificial chamber and the descending fimircages, survive the orc patrols and find and kill Ulag himself.

It was a fun gamenight! Everyone survived and we got a bit deeper with the rules! Slowly learning the game as we play.

Thanks Anderas! Yeah I found him on ebay. Now he just needs to battle the litchmyre gargoyle thats hopefully arriving soon in Wave 2. There is another gandalf metal mini out there thats really cool with hat on walkin through the mines of Moria.

I painted this little fellow yesterday work in progress, maybe a few more details and touch-ups. I love putting new minis on the HQ bases, its like they immediately become part of the Hero Quest universe

yeah!! He could be an aspiring necromancer experimenting with rats. I bought him as an NPC, the crazy guy who catches rats and sells them to the goblins or something like that. He has definitely some important information.

I cannot believe it....its done....I finished the last two of the original HeroQuest minis, which I had postponed for months!!! The chaos sorcerer and the gargoyle and with that I finished the whole baseset and the Karak Varn expansion!!! WOOHOOO!!! I am friggin stoked. I gonna post pics tomorrow!

So just before my one year "Inn-iversary" is coming up I felt its time to finish painting my set. Around this time last year I remembered the fun I had as a kid painting the HeroQuest figures and how much I loved this game. So this kicked it all of, january last year I bought a really nice copy of the basegame on ebay and soon after added the Karak Varn expansion. Little did I know that this "innocent" buy would start a new hobby for me! With the amazing help of Krautscientist and this forum I started painting my set! It was super fun and I am beyond stoked that in the last days I finished my last two modells!

Now its off to the furniture and then I gonna look for the return of the witchlord expansion, these were the only two expansions I owned as a kid and I gotta say I cannot wait painting the next original models!

The last two models which I postponed for months were the chaos sorcerer and the gargoyle. I really like these models and I didnt dare to touch them, but finally I did. I am quite happy with how they came out. I probably gonna go add more details and highlights as I seem to tend to go back over models after a while but for now I am happy!

Even though there is not much response on this thread I wanna finish my "one year project post" with all the non official add-on miniatures that I painted since I joined. The Heroquest family is growing! Some barbarians, some NPCs and a few demons. Most of them are from otherworld miniatures and from the Boris Woloszyn range. I posted most of them before but I wanna round it up with the full set on a HQ outside board! Almost one year of painting!
