I think the fireplace will spin round to the room above so we could cover the three squares in front of it before pulling the switch. Of course it could spit fire or something on anyone standing in front of it, but I doubt it.

This is what your formulas can't take into account, utter stupidity on the part of the players. Don't worry though, I can fix this, but first I need to know a couple of things.

Can monsters pull the switch?

Are my summoned undead going to be treated as if they where mercenaries while they're under my command? This is important because they have to start adjacent to me so I need to know whether they block our movement and whether we block theirs.

In fact, it has been taken into account. I took a look at the totals, and you lost only one BP more than calculated until now. Of course in the calculation the Monsters would all have been dead after this loss.

Your Monsters are mercenaries as long as they belong to you.
Monsters can pull the lever, yes.
You can move through your own monsters as long as they belong to you.
