Check how they were done by my guys - will give you ideas about some of em. The torture rack has bloody finger lines on the levers...

You can even make the door frames look like stone, too...
(you can really see the bloody finger lines on the rack here!)

Notice all the wood tones have been redone, to eliminate the one-tone plastic gloss.

Maybe this post should go to a specific topic to avoid getting it lost under "heroes"

I have painted another heroine from Reaper: Yvonne Warmaiden.

Her stats for Heroquest are simple: a "reflected" version of the Barbarian: more defense, less attack. more mind, less body:

Mov: 2 Dice
Attack: 2
Defense: 3
Body: 7
Mind: 3

This makes her tough as a Dwarf, but hey, she is a Warmaiden :)

Very Nice painting, if I may say so !!
I used to paint back in the day, but alas I haven't touched a brush and paint in 8 - 10 years.
Now with my kids getting into the game, I might just start up again, hoping they too get interested and maybe even start
painting.

Yvonne Warmaiden armor and chain look nice, and the base itself look sweet, custom job? or is that how they come from reaper for this character?

The Dwarf too, awesome. The DnD dwarf and dwarf King both looked nice, I too hate when dwarves look like a munchin LOL.

I was into orcs for so many years, loved the greens and blacks, and dark gloomy colors. Not saying an orc can't wear a bright colored item, just seemed to use earthy colors and wanted them to look more like the bad guys.

My trouble has always been flesh tones, I order from miniwargaming site that drathe mentioned on another post Reapers, How To Paint: Armor and Fur.
My next purchase will be the How To Paint skin tones one reaper has. That is if the first one I bought is that helpful :)
If not then I will not buy the second :)

Thanks for your comments.

The base is a custom one, but not made by me. There is a shop here in Madrid who creates custom resin bases and gives them to clients depending on the size of their purchase

I added some rubble and grass to "hide" the original base of the miniatures, that is below.

It was time to get my hands on the original HQ Heroes. Some minis I didn't like at all, but who gain an incredible amount of life when painted.

Very nice! I'm curious to know where the bow and quiver on the Elf's back came from.

It is a quiver from the WHFB High Elf spearmen. I got it from a friend. I had no desire to "mutilate" a classic mini adding a bow, so I decided to go for a "less aggresive approach" :)
