Nope I was being genuinely sincere, I do like to see minis painted well.
I'm not some kind of ogre y'know.

I would like to know how a nice simply put comment of support counts as trolling? :?:

it doesn't. I got it the way it was meant as a nice comment on my minis, and IvenBach has that kind of humor to go out accusing you sarcastically of trolling, so fret not. He's a  that way and I know it.
thanks for the compliment.

Ah I wasn't sure if it was in light of a certain thread elsewhere KK.
I think it's awesome that more painted examples of the HQ minis are getting shown more and more, I love to see everyone elses takes on them

I will admit tho, I don't read every post made on this forum......bad Bru...I know.

I kind of go in the order the comments are posted. Just reading them in order made it look like you were trolling a bit. I knew you weren't though. bruenor is a bigger person than me as far as that goes. Either way looking good.

I saw my orthopedic specialist today. He found a bone anomaly. There's an additional bone in my hand and he basically said "That's not bad" and I was like "Well, it hurts to the point where I can't work" and he goes "Use unguent" and I'm like "Yeah, sure" and I went home. Maybe it's the bone chaoticprime is missing and all doctors in the world know about it which is why I saw a scene flashing by my eye in the vein of Breaking Bad or Six Feet Under where the ashamedly look of the actor tells the audience and the protagonist exactly what the illuminated character means without him having to say a single word. The look that says "Don't push it, I said what I had to and I didn't say what you must not know. Now go home and try to live in peace." The look that says "If I tell you exactly what it is you're gonna slowly sink into despair. Murphy's Law, dude. Psychosomatic symptoms. Now go home and do your girlfriend as long as you can."

Monday I'll paint minis and then go to work.
And no, I'm not high. Everyone around me is.

Re: knightkrawler's gallery

Postby knightkrawler » August 10th, 2014, 9:24 am

So, I managed to paint again after an extended 8 month hiatus.
Took these pictures to clearly see the deficits in my paintjobs, e.g. between the Skeleton ribs there are some shadows missing.
The orcs look a little paler than they are, which makes them look even more sickly than it was the goal. For these three I'm pondering over giving them milky white tunnel dweller eyes. I have also painted two other batches, not yet finished, in a sickly green and bluish grey, respectively. Another batch will be more towards the traditional green.
Critiques, please.

Love those skeleton eyes! Someone's been watching Mr. Sturday's blog, right?

The source lighting on the orc staff needs to be on the staff and shoulder as well. Imagine a cone of light pointing from the top to the figure.
What models are these orcs? and are they metal or resin?

I like the bronze gargoyle a lot with the verdigris!

I'm not so sure about that OSL, cause the staff is rather flat. That glowing front side makes the shoulder be at a dead angle. Also, the light source is carved in, so I decided not to include too much of the staff cause it glows outside at a narrower angle. But I'll look into that again.
Is the color difference between light source and reflecting areas OK? That's my very first attempt at OSL.

I don't follow Mr Saturday regularly, I just bought Formula P3 Arcane Blue because I want to give all my undead glowing eyes and it's quite a unique color, so I fumbled it into the sockets, going after that with considerably less white when the Arcane Blue was still wet.

The orcs are metal from Excalibur, sculpted by Werner Klocke around 1998 give or take 2 years.
I bought 2 boxes of 8 each, some arms are modular and can be interchanged to a certain extent.
Those are the best Orc sculpts I've seen so far with the notable exception of everything orc from Rackham. They fit both of my preferred styles pretty good, because they're both oldschool Citadelish look and very detailed. Very little flash cleaning involved, too.
