Also, the color composition is crap. The title is glaring at you while the plot seems to take place in my arsehole.
That's basically confirming everything chaoticprime has said about GameZone's usage of HeroQuest as a name.

I've never liked that particular artist from the second Talisman picture. Something about his style just irks me. He always makes those trademark skulls.
The colouring is slightly worse on the 2nd pic, but essentially they are the same style.

On SH I think they did a remake the RIGHT way in regard to models and tiles.
The old tiles are definitely very nice, but they are way too clean and bright. They look like the START of Alien. The new ones look like the END of Alien. (And that is kinda when this game takes place after all ;))
The old ones are functional as hill though!

lets just wait and see what it looks like? we have all nailed this to the wall and weve only seen a few pictures.
i mean if any of you here were to be at the helm of a 25th anniversary remake. im guessing we all would of made the same choices that these guys have so far.
updating artwork. new cool minis and such. as ive said before. im not a fan of remakes or reunions. but thats not to say this might actually be quite excellent?

Actually, I think it would have been a joint effort, collecting ideas, and choosing the best ones. It would ROCK! And it would feature a certain orc on the box! ----->

Oh my god! I just now see the fancy new titles of Sjeng and knightkrawler!

Anyways...
I'm 100% certain that if we for real decided to do a joint effort "remake" of HQ it would be a disaster.
While I think we generally could agree to an overall plan, it would become a cat fight when we started to dive into details.

That is true.
But who gives a crap?

This is our hobby: we see a weakness - we get ourselves inspired - we find a solution - we present it - we receive feedback - we improve, change, and re-do.
Everyone can find anyone's take on this and that and then make their own version.

That's what part of my hobby is, and I'm pretty sure it's the reason of 9 out of 10 of us being here. I don't want it any other way.
I'm making my own HQ version without any timeframe or pressure and I'll leave it at just that and if it's ever finished I'll upload it for free for anyone to use or not use or whatever the case may be.

That's why we'd need a logical alpha-male, such as myself, to coordinate ideas and not give a fraggle about making everyone a little bit happy and angry at the same time.

Is this supposed to hit the Kickstarter tomorrow? I will definitely look this up when I get home from work.. I just hope it pays homage and respects what came before.. Hero Quest will always be the best board game to me. Even Zombicide & MYTH that I pledged for still wont nudge this aside. :P :D I will always though keep an open mind, I know everything may still be in prototype mode and WIP, but... will have to see what they have to offer as soon as it goes live.
