Well, maybe, but this is pretty far from classic alchemistic lore. See above.chaoticprime wrote:Planar actually refers to a metaphysical plane--a fourth dimensional wave existence that is the origin of consciousness (according to some hillbillys).

Well, as properties that are directly detectable by the senses, I would normally have thought they are accidents (like taste or color), but if you say Aristotle labeled them as substantial, it may very well be so. I'll just take your word for it, I don't remember and am too lazy to resaerch it now.
But still, they are not elements.chaoticprime wrote:Aether was also once regarded as an immaterial element that filled up the Kaos (unordered space--the atmosphere & outer-space) thus bringing about daylight. The sun was a corollary--it only came out when it was daytime
But that is not part of the classical four element lore or of the mainstream alchemy that developed from it. Of course when you include every obscure source someone worte sometime, can find practically any idea.chaoticprime wrote:Aether and Akasha or Void are the same in that they represent what is immaterial, the only difference is that in the latter cases that also means non-existent.
But this is a very important difference. Aether and Akashs are very real substances in their respective philosophical systems. They are the matter of what is eternal and unchanging, as opposed to the matter of the earthly nature wich is ever-changing and, in the end, perishable. It is not immaterial, and certainly not to be confused with the void.Well, maybe, but this is pretty far from classic alchemistic lore.
