[Poll] Which HeroQuest system and expansions do you own?

I'm very excited becasue I just purchased a lot of HeroQuest games that includes both the Barbarain & Elf Quest Packs! There's also a complete Game System that I want to give to my daughter. I paid a lot less than the going eBay prices for this stuff and if I decide to sell the items I don't need it will equal an even better deal.

3 weeks ago I was less than 1 day away from buying WHQ+treasure cards expansions for € 75 (!) (I found out less than 1 day too late...) and recently I missed out on a WHQ for € 160 (this time I was a few days too late).

I've been looking a for a while and I don't think any good deals are to be found on eBay as a precedent has been set as far as pricing. Board Game Geek has a worldwide marketplace and I've seen two Game Systems go for cheap on shopgoodwill.com.

Speaking of eBay, there has been a veritable flood of Barbarian Quest Packs on there lately which leads me to wonder just how rare that puppy really is. Like the Game System and the first two expansions, there seems to be a steady supply.

Boardgamegeek.com also has a community that sells games. Here's a link to some pretty good deals (scroll down towards the bottom of the page). Problem is, you gotta trust a private seller. A couple I noticed:

Two base games and the rare Elf Quest Pack and Barbarian Quest Pack: $200. Shipping is included, but the boxes are mixed and worn, and maybe everything isn't present. Some figures are painted. Still, really cheap for what you probably will get. I'd consider getting it myself, but international shipping will kill me.
The base game and two expansion pacs, probably Kellar's Keep and Return of the Witch Lord: $100.

Also, if you're patient you might get a decent deal on Ebay. However, Christmas season is a bad time to be looking.

If it is the same $200 set, I didn't know KK and RotWL were also included. And free shipping in the US. Damn international shipping kept me at bay. At least I can vicariously enjoy your good fortune.

I didn't see that post on this forum, but it must be the same seller. They added Kellar's Keep and Return of the Witch Lord afterwards. I did have to pay around $40 shipping, but it's still a great deal. I'll post again here when it arrives.

There does seem to be some incredible deals available on BGG that you can't even find on Ebay. Too bad they don't last, and too bad I'm currently poor as snot or I would likely own a $20 complete copy of Legend of Zagor, among other things.

Whew! The package arrived today and most of the cards and tiles were spread out among six boxes. You don't realize how much stuff comes with these games until you have to inventory and sort it all. It took me three solid hours to go through everything and put it in the right box.

Anyway, here's the story:

Elf Quest Pack: 100% Complete! The Giant Wolves and Two of the Ogres are painted, but everything else is in perfect shape!

Barbarian Quest Pack: 100% Complete! The Yeti's are painted as are parts of the Frozen Horror. I was glad to find all of the tiles and mercenary weapons present, as well as an unmolested Female Barbarian

Game Systems: Two complete systems! One is in great shape while the other has painted miniatures and furniture. Still, the remainder of the components are in good shape as are the boxes, so this is a worthwhile collection. There are also a few extras: an Elf covered in primer, a few cards and a bunch of combat dice.

Kellar's Keep: Missing the top half of the of the box and one Goblin. All but three of the Orcs are painted.

Return of the Witch Lord: Missing the top half of the of the box and four skeletons. All of the miniatures are painted.

Overall, I think it's a good haul for $200. I'm relieved that most of the miniatures from the two rare Quest Packs were spared the wrath of the paintbrush. I will probably wind up selling some of the components that my kids don't want, but now I have all four US Quest Packs.....so I'm a happy Zargon!
