Flash Gordon is sci-fi. Krull mixes fantasy with a slight bit of SciFi.

Fun trivia: Krull was one of the first movies starring Liam Neeson (in a supporting role) and Robbie Coltrane (also a supporting role)
Neeson is now very famous (Star Wars, Batman, Schindlers List etc) and Coltrane is better known as Hagrid from Harry Potter.

Mine is from the known demigod artist who was called Frank Frazetta (died some years ago). Cover art artist, illustrator, etc... the best of his kind... miles away from Larry Elmore of TSR.

sinned - I did not know those two were in Krull (one of my favorite movies of all time)
I'm going to have to go back and check it out.

As for Flash Gordon, I'm proud to admit I own that on DVD and watch it occasionally.

Patroclus - Frazetta has been a favorite of mine for a long time. I have some trading cards of his from many years
ago. If I ever remember to, I'll scan them to show you.
If you are a fantasy artist buff - check out:
Larry Elmore, Jeff Easley, Keith Parkinson, Clyde Caldwell.
Its a who's who of D&D art, but they really were the best.

Todd Lockwood is good, but he does a lot of computer art; I prefer the real thing...oils and such.

Then you have the hildebrandt brothers...a little cheesy at times, but good. They did a lot of tolkien art.

AND, I only recently discovered Darryl K Sweet (from the new covers for Terry Brooks' old novels) - but he is pretty
bad %$# from what I see so far.
