Wizards of Morcar adds the 3x Wizard Solo Quest, and Against the Ogre hoard adds the 3x Dwarven Solo quest.
Likewise since we received a 3rd Elf, and a 3rd Barbarian, they add a 3rd dwarf to the Ogre expansion (perhaps even a new class, a female dwarven Priest)
and for Wizards, they give us a playable female Orc Shaman. (Take advantage of those cool orc Shaman spells as a player character)

Onto a more important subject, Ogres and Hit points. Originally the US Ogres were 10 HP, and they have been nerfed in the new elf pack.
I for one count that as the new "Uk Ogre" stats, and my Ogres still have 10. But considering how the Ogre hoard had Champions, Heroes and Warlords, etc.
We need to see the difference between them, here is what I did for the old HQ, based on stats from WFRP, and the WFB system for champs, heroes, and warlords.

Ogres are large monsters, granting them +2 dam with any weapon, and can wield 2h weapons with 1h. All ogres can throw boulders for 4 att. and wear a Gut Shield for added protection.
Standard Ogre Warriors : 5 Att, 4 Def, 5 Body, 1 Mind, Move 6. They use a club. **This is what you see in the new elf pack**
Ogre Champions: 5 Att, 4 Def, 6 Body, 1 Mind, move 6. They use a Broad Axe (which can be thrown)
Ogre Warrior Hero: 6 Att, 4 Def, 7 Body, 2 Mind, move 6. They use a Battle Axe.
Ogre Chieftain: 5 Att + 5 Att, 5 Def, 8 Body, 2 Mind, move 4. They duel wield a Broad Axe (which can be thrown) and a Bladed Gauntlet, with a Helmet.
Ogre Shaman: 4 Att Diag. 4 Def, 9 Body, 5 Mind, move 6. Tree Staff, All Shaman Spells, wears robes.
Ogre Warlord: 5 Att + 5 Att, 5 Def, 10 Body, 5 Mind, move 5. Broad axe (which can be thrown) and a Bladed Gauntlet, with a Helmet.
Wild Ogre: 6 Att, 4 Def, 10 Body, 1 Mind, Move 6. weapon varies. (new designation for old school US Ogre.)
Mercenary Ogre: 6 Att, 4 Def, (5/10 Body)*, 1 Mind, Move 6. Battle Axe. Using the new reputation rules for hiring Mercenaries, you can hire a Merc Ogre
by spending 1 reputation point, AND paying him 200gold. As a hired Mercenary they only have 5 HPs. Hired Merc Ogres can carry x2 equipment.
They count as +2 for str test (opening stone doors) This could be a bonus mini for the Ogre Hoard, since most of the other packs add Mercs.

Adding three solo quests to the WOM would still only make a quest book of 8 quests, as the original only had 5, and the last of these was dreadful. It stank of a rush job on a Friday afternoon!!
As for ATOH, if my memory is correct, it was about seven quests, so adding three solo quests to this would work.
For me the best thing about ATOH was the tiles. The huge pit of chaos tile was so good and used many times in my homebrew quests.

Disclaimer: I am not saying this will or even should happen, just adding something for consideration.

It occurs to me that any added Quests 'Could' be related to the purported, "New way to play" we've heard little about. I think that this new play mode will potentially be the Arena thing, and it's at least feasible that the additional quests could be directly associated with that.

It's also worth considering that RotDM did not go the Solo Quest route despite many predictions that it might.

Regardless, when "We" had AH team members engaged with the community, whom we knew were following our discussions and debates, decisions were made that "broke" conventions or patterns we'd seen previously. So anything is possible really. Also, whatever this Quest Pack ends up looking like, should it come to be, I don't think we'll ever know what, if anything, was changed post AH having sacked senior team members.

Time will tell.

Some not so good news coming out, thanks to GeekGoneGiddy for reporting, from InstaGram:

So does this mean: 1) ATOH will be a HasbroPulse Exclusive (bad, but not totally gone), 2) (worse) it will be a limited time exclusive, or 3) (worst) it is cancelled completely? [Edit: I should have said the last option is the LEAST likely outcome, and it turns out it was completely false! AH confirmed AH Is NOT cancelled... and no indication it will be a limited release, thank goodness! |_P My apologies for getting anyone unduly upset with this speculation! ]

That would be better than cancelled completely.

considering it hasn't showed up yet for preorder on Pulse or Amazon, it may well be (hopefully) that the cancellation at other retailers just signals a shift in production schedule. It takes longer to get things done with fewer employees; plus they may be de-prioritizing niche products over main sellers. I do pray they don't drop the line before "completing" it.

Am I over-reacting? Being pessimistic? I'm going to let Hasbro know exactly how I feel.

I will NOT pre-order. (I haven't pre-ordered since the Guardian Knights debacle)

IF a "premium" (paid) membership is required to buy it, I will NOT pay for that.

IF this is a limited time exclusive (won't re-supply if goes out of stock), I will NOT buy it from Hasbro (and I won't pay scalpers!).

How are they going to stop me? I own ATOH from 1991 (and phoenix's conversion has been available for two decades). Are they going to refuse to release the PDF of the quest book which will show me any missing content AND leave it out of the companion app? People who buy it won't be able to tell me what new things are in it???

Hasbro may not care if they lose my $44.99, but if they lose enough $44.99's... maybe they'll take notice?

So hopefully they do the smart thing and sell ATOH the same as FH, MOTM, ROTDM...

But if they want to go to "war" with their customers, we have the power to derail their plans simply by refusing to pay their extra fees and play by their silly rules. If the company can't survive without their exclusives and catering to fomo collectors/scalpers (while treating their successful employees as expendable), maybe they deserve to go out of business. /Rant Over (for now)!

My complaint email to Hasbro (customerservice @ hasbropulse dot com) today:
To Whom it May Concern (escalation to higher level complaints requested):

It has come to my attention that the manufacturer of the upcoming "Against the Ogre Horde" expansion pack for HeroQuest has notified Miniature Market that this product will
"not come to retailers."

This is not a good sign. This says to me that very likely Hasbro is moving HeroQuest to a "subscription" based model, where it will be held behind a premium membership paywall
for several months (or indefinitely).

That would be a step back, after Avalon Hill's team was forced to publicly apologize after the Commander of the Guardian Knights ran out of stock permanently and was met with fan backlash.
This would be a lesson un-learned when fans clamored for the "Mythic" HeroQuest content be released into retail.

HeroQuest is not a product only for North Americans or customers who are native English speakers. It is a global community of fans who have loyally followed the product since the 1990's (and would again if it were once more available).

Who is Hasbro catering to, scalpers who snap up limited release products and re-sell them on places like Ebay for two, three, four (or more) times the price to desperate fans and victims of
"Fear of Missing Out"? Is it too much to ask for a show of respect to the fans they claim "come first"?

We are fans who do NOT want to pay a subscription fee to be able to purchase an entertainment product. I do not "pre-order." I "Order" products I want to support.

Many of us already own all of the HeroQuest expansions from the past or can easily acquire them or even print & play them. Many of us CHOOSE to support your products with our money AND give them
free public promotion because we see a company that is doing the right thing by their customers... a rare thing these days with a revived beloved franchise.

Many of us are still sore from the layoffs impacting the Avalon Hill team. The goodwill that was rightfully earned over the last two years hangs by a thread if the wrong decisions are made.

I can understand that companies like yours want to maximize profit. Part of maximizing that profit means satisfying your customers. The customers of HeroQuest are more numerous than Hasbro seems to let on.
We are not just the people who pledged during the Haslab campaign. We are not just people who have X (twitter) or instagram accounts and "follow" Avalon Hill and "Zargon." We are not just members of the Avalon Hill discord.
Every day fans are waking up who remember HeroQuest, who would support it again, who may be more the type of of consumer who will go to a store to buy a game rather than sign up for a premium membership and order directly from Pulse.

What are fans in other countries outside of North America, the UK, Australia and New Zealand supposed to do? I have members of my community who tell me their countries sell out of their native language and customers are ordering the English versions from the US and making fan translations. Clearly the demand is not being met. Why would Hasbro not want to take advantage of this community?

And yet if HeroQuest is de-funded, pushed to the back-burner or turned into a collector/FOMO product ripe for scalpers, it will simply be hastening its departure from the stage, which would be a sad thing for its many fans.
We kept our community going for three decades with no customer support, and we'll do it again. How sad if the company we want to support refuses to work with us and do what seems to be a very reasonable thing, which is making its product available to the widest group of customers as possible.

Please escalate my comments to your highest level of complaint, I hope your actions prove me wrong, that HeroQuest will continue to be a successful brand for the masses, rather than an elite niche product whose days are numbered.

Best wishes,

I really wanted the new tiles, stone doors, and ogre throne. Also interested to see the added quests. Otherwise I have the original one.

I like using the old minis on the new board with the larger squares. That's why want the new size for the tiles.
