I totally agree with the Potion of Restoration price decrease.

These figures will give a real feel and atmosphere to this quest. There are however two small problems:
Quest 10: Not enough Abominations so swap 1 in the room with 2, with an Orc or Goblin somewhere. Also there are not enough skeletons, so make 2 of them, in the room with 4, into Zombies. A couple of extra defence dice is not going to break the bank.

...

Although if the quest book is not corrected I will be livid. They wouldn't.....would they?

SQT Q10 I don't see there being too many of either skeletons of Abominations if you only had the GS allotments (4 skeletons, 3 abominations; plus the retail version added 2 more of each).

I'm talking about when using the translucent figures only from SQT for certain spirit themed quests detailed in my full quote. Otherwise you are perfectly fine with the GS.

Kurgan wrote:Would it be good to copy and paste similar text into the revised version of Spirit Queen's Torment (which I predict will be revealed Oct 6th at SPIEL ESSEN convention, hopefully)? Absolutely. I hope they do. After all, not everyone who plays the new retail version will have ROTWL and shouldn't have to flip through that book to find out what happens (whereas the Mythic tier where SQP originally appeared was bought by superfans like us who are already familiar and have that expansion available).
....

A few of our members on the HQF discord who have the new SQT have confirmed that in Q8 & 9 (where mind point damage is possible) that there is no specific rule given as to what happens to the heroes at Zero mind points. Not in the quests themselves... and no new gameplay notes were added to the earlier pages (I can confirm there's no explanation given in the Mythic original). Therefore we're left to imagine it's either like KK (death) or like ROTWL (unconscious).

Reading more carefully, the heroes are breathing magically while underwater, so no fear of drowning while "asleep." Also the rules for "unconscious" characters in ROTWL (and ATOH, though under the EU rules of course), the hero (or monster, as in ATOH) is immediately removed from the board for the rest of the quest. That makes it appear their name (and gear) are safe, unlike when dying. No opportunity is given to use a potion at the last second to restore mind points and avoid this fate. But overall Q8 looks pretty easy to stay "alive" with a normal party (by this stage everyone should be rolling at least 4 defend dice) unless there are some VERY unlucky rolls. In Q9, only the Orcs can render a hero unconscious.

Now if someone decided to use the Shock rules, well the "spectral" monsters in both quests can't do anything to you after you've reached 0 MP, so you'd effectively be immortal in Q8 (unless killed by Hazards from searching for treasure, as even Wandering Monsters are spectral), though in Q9 you could still be killed by the other half of the monsters (Wandering Monsters once again only can deal MP damage and you can't go below zero). So I'm betting that the "Shock" rules of later expansions are not a great fit for this set.

If you take zero MP to mean "death" it makes the stakes a little higher, but overall neither quest appears to be too difficult to survive, unless the heroes get very unlucky.

Can a Hero in Shock still perform searches? I don't remember that, but it sounds counter-intuative.

Perhaps you can add the different rules to your post as a reference for those of us who can't memorize them (bad memory.)

I cropped out the irrelevant portions, but here is how it is explained in ROTDM below... So yeah, it doesn't have any other effects than reducing their movement/attack/defense. They can still search like normal.

Yeah, I would say the Shock rule doesn't work out too well for these quests.

You could slowly pick off all the monsters and they couldn't touch you.
