Thing changing, notice how we are starting to grasp for clues in the stuff that's BEHIND the stuff that was posted. I too was rotating the image to try to guess.

So the Jedi Knights, Kai Lords Wizard students were slaughtered by the servants of Chaos at the College of Arcane Lore? I guess that means Harry Potters is dead then (just kidding, he wasn't even born yet!).

The best stories are the ones that are borrowed that remind you of other cool things. Maybe some of them survived? I like the idea of a magic merc, although giving him some ability to regain his spell is a good idea to prevent him just being pure cannon fodder (once his one spell is used up, he's as good as dead). Captured prisoners who can help, etc.

The rock tunnels remind me of the ice tunnels, but presumably they weren't just a different color. We've seen special doors before (Elf Quest pack with the portcullis and mirrors for example; and the stone doors in ATOH). I presume no wall base minis this time, just regular door frames to hold them...

I think wizard apprentice abilities would be sort of like level 1 magic in the japan version.
They pick either the ability to heal 1 pt as an action, or cast a mini 1 pt fireball as an action.
These are not full spells, more like cantrips, and whichever one they pick they will always have
even after they become full wizards with full spells.

An idea of mine was to implement the treasure deck with a "Wandering Apprentice" card. He draws 2 spells at random and has weak stats. He becomes an ally (some kind of mercenary) played by the hero who will draw his card.
Once he's dead you must return the card into the treasure deck so you have the chance to meet a second one.
But since we are going to be close to the original project I don't think this will be implemented.
The ideal miniature would have been this one:

That would make sense, and keeping them alive would mean you get to keep their (low level) magic benefits. It would be a good solution in any case! Wonder what the designers intended though (our fan improvements can always come later)...

Wow, definitely a hot topic. It takes a while to catch up. haha
Anyway, a note....
I saw a few comments in regards to artifacts and the fact that some items did not get cards in the Elf pack for example.
I just wanted to point out, if it is not an artifact , it wont get one. The Elf and Barbarian packs were strickly US. So
for example a Spear would not have a card, it would simply become another weapon available at the local smithys place.
Which also means, that every character could own one if they wanted too, just like a long sword or a helmet.
Likewise, at the end of the elf pack, your Hero is awarded a set of magic Elven Chain Mail that gives you 2def. This might seam
like it should get an Artifact card even, but it wouldnt. It may not be common gear, but it is also not unique, any Elf could have a set.
This could easily apply in the Dwarf and Wizard packs for items, to help account for the specific 30 cards requirement.

I go to bed and while I sleep, the topic explodes :-)
I OCR'ed and corrected the OCR of the page posted above

Hammer intro page 1

The HAMMER OF HADRAKKA

The adventure continues. The Hammer of Hadrakka is a Quest Pack used with your original Hero Quest game System. You must have the Game System in order to play the adventures in this booklet.

Contents: 3 Ogres (assembly required), Carnivorous Caveworm (assembly required), I Stone Golem, 2 Rockmoles, 1 Female Dwarf Hero, 3 Dwarf fighters, a 10 by 18 inch cardboard sheet, this Questbook, and 30 assorted cards.

All components should be carefully removed from the cardboard sheet. New game components are described below

NEW COMPONENTS

Worm/Mole Holes (3) When called for, take three plastic door stands from the Game System. The worm/mole holes should be fitted into the door bases. The holes function just like open doors, but indicate passages fraught with danger.

The Dwarven Forge (1)

The forge is the place where the Hammer of Hadrakka was made. It can only be unmade by dropping it back into the forge of its birth.

The Mountains of Myst (2 different)

Two of the square terrain areas represent the hills and valleys you must cross in order to find the halls of Borognogg. Movement in the mountains is special. Only one figure represents the whole party of adventurers when moving in the valleys. Terrain features of note on the map are Hills (brown), Rivers, (blue), grasslands, (It green), and forests (dark green tree symbols) Forces of Zargon ase represented by face down skull and rubble markers. Combat occurs when one side enters the same space as the other, battles are fought on the mapboard, ignoring all Walls.

The Twisted Tunnels (2 different)

On the reverse side of the two valley maps are two different twisted tunnel complexes These represent both the convoluted tunnels carved by the Rock Moles, and the passages mined by the dwarves of old in their starch for Dwarfmetal and Gems.

Additional Damage Markers (to be determined)

As there are many high level enemies to be found in the mines and tunnels of Berognogg, a set of numbered markers (multiple skulls) has been provided to supplement the skulls used to mark body points lost by the creatures of Chaos. Additionally, there a colored multiple skull markers to record lost mind points under the bases of the creatures of Chaos

Thank you very much Luca, to share the treasure you have found. For me, this is closure. A quest completed. I think there's not much more to find. You hold the final lost knowledge.

(ps: I donated to Luca and YeOldeInn to say thanks.)

Thank YOU Toco. I know the material you found inspired a lot of people down the years to keep this hope alive. Glad you found some closure too. The missing material that has come to light this week looks pretty good, I’m sure we will eventually get two great expansions out of this.

Thank you Toco, I wouldn’t even have known these existed if it wasn’t for your work. HeroQuest should have taught us some quests can only be beaten if we work as a team!

Now the search for the second draft of the Dwarf pack can begin…

So this quest (for the lost quests) was begun a decade ago, and it nears its glorious end in 2022!
