It's not a confirmation of a retail release, but it does give some hope for it. Why else would they spend the money on producing the video?

A call to arms for the HeroQuest Game System, featuring the voice of designer, Stephen Baker.

I thought that sounded like Stephen Baker, the OG of Heroquest!

Is it coming to retail?

Sounded like the narrator was from New Zealand to me.

Two things I hope for; that this comes to retail, and that they make a budget-friendly version. I think more people may have an easier time getting into it then. But that's just me, personally.

I’ve been thinking this, too. For me, Mythic Tier was enough of a bargain that I bought two sets, “just in case”, in light of the pain of losing both my childhood set of Base + KK + WL, and then again my recollected in university set of those same three, plus Ogre Horde and Morcar.

But for all the new/casual players who might be invited into HQ now for the first time, even with inflation, $100+ for the base game feels like it could still be a big ask and nonstarter. I’d really love it if there was a way to get a perhaps on-sprues, assembly required version on store shelves for $50~60 or less, to maximize potential reach.

That ad is amazing, though. I’m obviously already biased, but I think it would get me very excited, even if I had no prior knowledge of the game. The only change I’d like to see is also including images or footage of the board, minis and furniture, card art, and clear communication that the game is designed to easily allow adaptation and original quest creation. A revamped, reconceived “Adventure Design Kit”, with background lore and tips on balancing mechanics and creating interesting rooms/scenarios would be great, especially if there’s also supported function in the companion app to easily design and print original quests, as well as play testing and virtual Zargon for original quests in the app.
The best thing about HeroQuest is the lifelong unlocks on the imagination.

all five of the mythics ordered by my friends (plus my two) have arrived, so the Western U.S. distribution is rolling along nicely or is nearly done I would say. Perhaps good news for the poor folks in Canada forced to be second in line?

Knight time. Also, looks like retail in at least Canada is aiming for Christmas, though the distribution website still says January.

Well, I got my first copy just fine, but FedEx managed to lose my second copy. I've contacted Hasbro and they're seeing if they can track it down, but if they can't, they mentioned sending a replacement. So, all should be good there - And hey, at least I got one copy already, so I'm ready to play with my friends anyway!

Hmm... so if we try reading Twitter "Zargon's" jokes like tea leaves maybe he's saying they're going to remake Bloodbowl next? (Orc football)

Not Battle Masters, not Heroscape, not Space Crusade...

Looking closer at that picture on Twitter I guess it's two sides of the same miniature so I agree with those who say it's the female barbarian remade from the upcoming and oft teased Barbarian Quest pack remake.

Shadzar posted Gamestop Canada's page selling HeroQuest (Game System plus "Knight Hero" which I take to mean Sir Ragnar) for the equivalent of $164.11 US (including shipping and tax?).

Disagree? I'm very skeptical it's anything more than that, because here we have once again a website with only a stock photo and no real info that for all we know will go down mysteriously once people start asking questions. Or maybe not...? :2cents:

The app, whatever it will be, could be interesting, but it's a lot of fun to play as Zargon. If there's no multiplayer and it's not free (say $10 or subscription based) and you can't make your own quests it will just be a tease to those who really want to have the real thing.

They need to release this stuff to retail, not limited edition collector's item through websites. They can release all the other expansions they want, but it won't do a lick of good for the community if it isn't available for the masses for a reasonable price. No, I don't consider selling the Remake for $800-1200 (those are vintage Barbarian Quest Pack/Wizards of Morcar) prices on ebay or wherever to be "for the masses." Hasbro doesn't see a dime on the aftermarket.

In fact I'll go one more and say, release it all to retail, all of it. I don't have any special "collector feelings" that will be hurt if some exclusive I got on the pledge drive will be available at walmart or target, I really won't. We got it early, that's all we got, I'd be cool with that. So hopefully they make the better decision. But then I'm thinking like a fan here, rather than a soulless profit-making machine, so who knows what will really happen.

The price is in Canadian dollars, and apparently the Knight character (presumably more than just the character) will sell for $26 and is a Gamestop exclusive.
