Search for traps and secret doors in line of sight? Couldn't the druid just perform that search herself without asking the pixie to do it?

That's a terrible way to design! The first thing you learn in game design college is that form follows function.
Also notice that her entire theme is plants - None of her spells are plant based

I noticed the Pixie spell says it can "Restore up to two Body points that have been lost to one hero", and the Lifeforce spell says "This spell may be cast on any one hero, including yourself". Does this mean that Pixie can't heal the Druid?

Heck, I could actually go for a grizzled old orc shaman reluctantly teaming up with the heroes to free the spirits of his ancestors.
As a shaman, he's the only one of his kin who understands and cares about the terrible fate that has fallen upon his fellow orcs.
I don't even mind expanding the lore with ruins of an ancient orc kingdom, just cut the part of them having been wannabee high elves.
(Writing it up like this, this actually sounds salvageable)
The orc bard is just so far removed from everything, he feels like a tour guide at a cheap tourist trap.
Easily dominated and used as shock troops by more powerful or cunning evil entities, who follow simply because they love violence and warfare more than they fear the lash or death. Their lives are short and brutal with few ever living to old age due to constant strife. Shamanism primitive ancestral magic is the extent of their dweomercraft, far more brutish than the elegant and complex arcane magics that require a lifetime erudition of thick tomes and grimoires or a mentor's tutelage in the mastery of wizardry or worse giving one's soul to dark powers to be a slave of evil powers in exchange for command of sorcery.
would actually make sense in, but I want no part of it.

And after writing that I remembered that Hasbro/Avalon Hill dropped the word Chaos, they 100% will be dropping that orcs = murder fungi...
