Hypnotic Blaze - I don't have a problem with the effect on monsters in a solo setting as it can still be very useful, but I don't like it that it affects the other Heroes two. It makes no sense that his own buddies can lose 3 turns.

One more thing - now that we have separated the Elf deck into three, maybe the sword Woe could grant the elf one more deck, rather than just one more spell? These quests will get pretty difficult, I think 6 spells for the Elf is not too many.

I actually like the fact that Hypnotic Blaze can effect his allies, it is way too overpowered otherwise and it offers an opportunity to backfire. Where a casual spell either effects 1 hero or 1 monster, this is like a grenade and can neutralize an entire room. The spell would have no effect on the Wizard, as his mind points practically make him exempt from rolling.

Plus you can just work around it: just send the Elf into the room first, cast the spell, 4 heroes get free attacks on a group of monsters that can't defend.

Maybe Woe can have a different effect and allow the Elf to pick his favourites among the three spell decks.

Also, where do I find the additional tiles meant for these quests?

In the very post there are links to some of the tiles. The only one that’s missing is the coast tile which appears in quests 1, 2 & 11. We still need to create it, but at a fudge the games can be played for now just using imagination.

Good points about Hypnotic Blaze and Woe. It’s good having someone with a lot of experience of actually using the Elf spells, as I really don’t.

I also like the fact that Hypnotic Blaze can effect his allie!! Some powerful spells need brain to be used in the right situation. That's why you need at least 4 mind points to use magic ;)
I'd prefer that WOE Sword allows only one extra spell. A full new group it's too much I think. If you wish to help the Elf you can put a couple of spell scrolls somewhere (even in the treasure decks eventually).
For the 4th spell, if you need an idea about which one to take, as there will be 6 spells left, you can randomly place all of them in line and assign a number from 1 to 6 to each card, roll a red die and the corresponding spell will be selected. As an extra rule (all this extras should be explained in a "new rules" section in the questbook I guess) you can also chose to put them face down, one set on the left, the other set on the right; roll the die, now the Elf player can select from which side he must start to count so he can at least have a partial chose when picking up the 4th spell (hope I explained well).

Let’s keep Hypnotic Blaze as it is then.
And Woe will just give our Elf one extra spell. I think we should keep it simple and say the sword grants him any one of the remaining Elf spells of his choice.

OK, simple is always the best solution! Maybe:
"Carved from the wing case of a giant Night-Zacht, the pommel of polished spider bone, this sword thrums with elf magic. You may roll two dice in attack, and an Elf who wields the sword may pick up one extra Elf spell at random from the other six left." (needs better wording)

Yesterday night I discussed with Luis some ideas for the WOE Sword, the first 2 are representing the sword found in the storeroom as in the quest description. The 3rd is just the sword raised in the air. I prefer the storeroom version. Probably the second version will be used.
Also the harpoon sketch.

I'd go with;
"This sword, carved from the wing case of a giant Night-Zacht and with a pommel of polished spider bone, thrums with elf magic. It allows you to roll two dice in attack, and an Elf who wields the sword may select 4 Elf spells instead of 3 from now on".

I also added a note for Quest 1 saying "The extra spell bonus takes immediate effect, meaning that the Elf can choose one more Elf spell that he didn't possess, to use for the current Quest." Much like the Wand of Galimatias, the Evil Wizard needs to know that the extra spells come immediately, but this info doesn't really need to be on the card.

Lol, I don't think Spiders have bones, they have an exoskeleton... is an exoskeleton the same as an endoskeleton? This might just be semantics but I looked up the proper wording and it' would be "spider shell". Of course though, "shell" does not sound as foreboding as "bone".

 In the end I went with the author's terminology as I'm keen to retain as much of the novel as possible. Much like the "Cockodrilles" also in Quest 1!!!!
I like the idea of the sword hilt being a "boney" part of the spiders leg-joint, or as Luis drew it, even a tooth. It is a fantasy setting after all and wouldn't want to use a biological term like exo-skeleton.
