Two types of furniture (heavy and light)

Postby Geofonos » August 14th, 2016, 2:25 pm

Ok, so I haven't seen this listed elsewhere. If so, please pardon my ignorance and move the post accordingly.
While browsing through my game systems (both european and us version) I have come across two different types of furniture. One type is a heavier version with more plastic used for its creation and the other is a lighter version with less plastic used for them. I have included pictures in the link below, please visit to view the different types and see what I mean.
Does anyone have any info on those? Are the heavier pieces from older versions or something or is it just a random thing?
Thanks in advance for any possible answers.

 I have 2x the EU version of the Master Edition. Both have the "thinner" furniture with the "spacer". The height of the door base was changed in the 1990 version, but I wasn't aware, that there're further differences between the furniture.

Huh... I'm constantly amazed by how new things to analyse keep popping up.

I don't have any info but it would be reasonable to think it's a NA/EU difference.
Considering how the models' bases are different it's not far fetched to think the furniture could also be different.

I have also seen two types of doors bases, one slightly higher than the other. I cannot verify that its a difference between version though. I have seen US version with the heavier furniture only but I have seen EU version with both heavier and thinner furniture.
There is also a difference in the tomb furniture I have yet to upload.
Oh, and two different versions of rats too. One calm and one a bit angry with a more intimidating pose.

This is strange.

It must be a difference between editions...or something. Here's what I have:

2 NA sets: Both thicker plastic.
1 EU (UK): Thicker plastic
1 Advanced Quest : Thin plastic

I'm particularly interested in the rats. Pleas post a pic of them.

OK, my NA set has thicker furniture as well and my Advanced Quest has thinner furniture. But I have a couple of Greek (EU versions) that one has thicker and one has thinner furniture. Dunno, maybe one of them is older version or something.
Pic with the rats has been uploaded on my gdrive. Notice that the two rats on the right have a different pose, as if their spines are stretched upwards. There is a noteable gap between the front and the back parts of their bodies.

I will be uploading more detailed photos of the furniture in the future.
What I was hoping for was some info about them. It looks as if the company started using thicker furniture and then made cutbacks in the expenses so they used thinner furniture then.

In the German HQ Cooperation Forum is a member who is very interested in the differences of the HQ versions. He has made a list of the changes. May he use your Fotos for documentary purposes?

P. S.: I've both rat variants in my two Advanced Quest HQ Sets, too.
