I doubt it since it's so similar to the game system.

Only on the surface. It's a complete alternate ruleset and campaign with some unique cards. That's still something they could sell.

I was referring to the quest layouts. They would have to change the maps and everything to avoid all the similarities. Besides laying out entirely new rules that contradict the game system and all other quest packs in many areas.

I think the only quests that are the same is Castle of Mystery and Mystery of Star Lake. I Guess the Castle of Dread is similar to Borrak Tor as well with a few key differences.

The rules contradicting is the whole point! It sounds like what you're hoping for is that AH just takes the unique quests and converts them to the remake rules, right? I guess it would be more like a hybrid similar to ATOH... with upgrades, degrees of magic, bounties, and the special roles for the four heroes and the plotline of an "evil god" requiring special techniques to defeat.

The quests are still playable even under American rules. I'm not saying that the rules from Japan should carry over to the US. The original European and American versions of the game have a few differences, but even those can be converted, just look at Against the Ogre Hoard, the original was completely European and now has been converted to American standards.
The Japanese version can be played under American rules, but some quests would be just a little too easy.
There's also the storyline, which can be somewhat adapted. It's similar to the Witch Lord's rise and fall in the final 3 quests, but this Japanese storyline has a little more substance.

Using the American rules I've played through this, converting it for solo play. However it only seems doable with the Barbarian, Elf and Dwarf. I haven't been able to get all the way through with the Wizard.

Anyway, if Hasbro has the rights it could be done, but I'm not counting on it.

They have the rights to all of it. They have a good relationship with Takara. It seems like they've completely ignored Japan this time around though, so who knows.

I agree, but like I said, I doubt they'll act upon it. But here's to us fan-boys for hoping.
