Line of sight blocks exist only in corridors.

Yes indeed.

The 2nd ed EU visibility rules are clean and straightforward and easy to use.

The 2nd ed EU rules about placing and removing trap tiles, on the other hand...

Actually, on that note--the EU rulebook says 'The Dwarf may automatically remove any trap tile he is adjacent to'. But his character board says he can 'remove any visible trap in the same room or passage'. Seems like a contradiction.

We've always pretty much ignored what the character board said and gone with the rulebook. I usually forget it says something different on the Dwarf's board, because the information on those things is so basic I rarely glance at them.

If the trap isn’t visible/known they can’t remove it. That doesn’t change that they can only remove them when next to them. IE they can still step on an unrevealed trap and trigger it.

So let's imagine you are a Hero and your friend is another Hero in the same room with you. He is literally surrounded on all sides (and diagonals!) with monsters.

Yet you can still cast a helpful spell on your friend in the EU rules?

I guess it's magic. And if instead of a Hero it was a monster surrounded by Heroes and Henchmen, you could still shoot them with the crossbow from across the room in the EU?

In the iconic image on the front of the box we see the magic arcing towards the ceiling before cascading down towards the Chaos Warlock. Having spells be able to be cast as all targets in a room are visible? It seems to make sense to me ... |_P

Blasted satellite linkups, always adding an extra couple of seconds to that Ball of Flame. He's right there in the corner, winds of magic!

Another key difference nobody has mentioned is that when you cut off an orc's head and kick it around with your mates, in the NA version can use your hands while in the EU edition you can't, and aren't wearing armor.

Are you sure that you’re not talking about Orc pastimes? Not heroes? That doesn’t sound very heroic.

Sarcasm: Is that under the foosball expansion that was only released in Europe? /Sarcasm  |_P |_P

Unless it was the head of the Orc Bard, who, let's face it, everyone hates!

I’m pretty sure that I don’t hate Sjeng, Ye Olde Inn’s resident Orc Bard. And I know that I’m darn appreciative of Sjeng’s work. And you probably are too. So quit being a ninny. If you don’t like Sjeng, I’m not sure what to do with this level of foolishness.

Sorry folks just a silly joke. Okay, one last one GOAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAALLLLLLLLL!!!

Even though I'm far more invested in the NA version I grew up with, I wouldn't mind playing the EU version sometime. I already play using the unique Treasures from the EU and I once (accidentally) used the Spell rules from the EU. I have also played several of the quests from the EU exclusives (from the Maze to Against the Ogre Horde). I can see myself getting tripped up without a cheat sheet though...
