It is just a simple one-shot muzzle loader, bit like a bow & arrow. i really wanted one of those Witch Hunters see the Ebay thread, but too dear for me!

Sorry for bumping an old thread, but this question that the op had was bothering me also.

Reading the responces, it seems like it should apply to the orcs as well.

But I was thinking, could they mean that you only roll once for defence but roll both attacks? Granted the idea of the polar warbear hitting with 8 dice feels like alot, but I wonder if that's what they ment.

Like you'd roll both attacks worth, then defend, then that's your result, and they simply aren't saying that you roll once for each attack. I guess the end result is simular.

Didn't read whole thread, but here is my take on the sword:
For all normal situations you get 1 defense roll per attack against you. An orc hits you? Roll your D-dice. A goblin moves in to get a piece of the action in the same turn? Roll those dice again.
Do we agree this is how the game is played?

So I think it's fairly obvious that an orc struck twice in a round by Orc's Bane gets to defend twice as well.
Whether you get to attack two different adjacent orcs is another discussion all together. No arguments, but I'm gonna say YES!

barbarian quest book page 5 I think, says how with double attacks on a hero, you only ever roll once in defense.

Some here including myself feel that that errata should apply to monsters as well, orcs bane is one of the 4 ways that can happen to monsters (heroic brew and the elf/barbarian potions are the other 3 ways).

My interpretation is though that you roll both attacks toghether and then roll once to defend. (So against an orc, attacking it twice you'd roll 4 dice, then it would defend with two).

Other people intrepret it as you'd roll 2 dice to attack the orc, it can choose to defend or not, then roll 2 dice again if the ork lived (ie you wiffed) then if the orc didn't defend yet, you can defend the second time.

Aaah... I don't know the US books by heart!

But in that case I would say you roll two separate attacks. A complete miss would not trigger a roll in my opinion, so the defender can still defend from the second attack.
