Maybe miniatures of the heroes turned into Orcs?

Past days I have observed in media people being really sure about the content of PoT quest pack box (and also probable subsequent ones SQT and CoPD), asserting that these boxes will contain all the content included in the Mythic Tier box, separated between the three boxes, etc. and probably including some extra character miniatures and tiles.

Well, in my opinion I think it is too early to be sure about that, and I see more reasons to think the content will be different. It seems true that Hasbro will include in PoT box the related quest book, hopefully corrected, but 'commercially-thinking', trying to also atract (and not dissapoint...) the people who already bought the Mythic Tier, I think all the miniatures finally included in the new boxes will be different to the Mythic TIer ones (fully new or with new poses), including the Hero ones if included.

That's my feeling, but let's see once more info is discovered.

They could certainly toss the Mythic figures in there, because they are just regular assets in-game (Orcs are Orcs, Goblins are Goblins, etc). But do we have proof they will do that? No. I would love it of course, but I agree we shouldn't set ourselves up for disappointment. I would imagine more of a staggered release of Mythic materials. I'm happy to be wrong on that of course (if it came sooner).

That would be pretty cool. I'm guessing it's not likely to happen, simply because they'd see limited use. However, I suppose AH could be cheeky and keep the existing sculpts, but release them in "Orc Green" plastic to save on the costs of tooling new miniatures. I'd actually be pretty happy with that as a small box character pack, in fact.

I backed the kickstarter, or hasbropulse, or whatever incarnation it was, and went with the Mythic tier.

I fully appreciate that some people get defensive when it comes to 'kickstarter exclusive' items being subsequently released, but if it's something that people missed out on due to not being aware of the crowdfunding, and it will help expand the game then i'm all for it.

Despite having the Mythic tier and received the questbook, if there's new stuff in Prophecy of Telor then I can guarantee that i'll unashamedly buy it. :-)

I was a late Mythic supporter via ebay prices but arent miffed at all about it getting retail, always expected it would - along with the other 2.

Really dont get why people are being so precious over these going off-topic retail the kickstarted from the outset clearly stated only a few minis would be exclusive.

I'll be grabbing the retail - assuming it has tiles for Halls of the High Mages & The Arena of Misildia, and others along with a corrected quest book.... on that note Halls of the High Mages is a really broken quest design, shouldn't the Altar of the High Mages actually have 2 stairwells in it - one to get down into the lower level with the monsters, and another to go down again to exit the quest?

The retail versions seem to be of better quality anyway. Many have commented on the broken minis or those with missing parts that were part of the Haslab campaign already and I've commented on the malformed dice images (granted Hasbro has also been forthcoming at least with certain customers who have mentioned it, to replace their defective pieces). More recently we've had people saying their boards have ripped down the seams (not from misuse either, apparently).

I noticed a rip in one of the corners of my mythic box recently. Then again I have been opening and closing that thing nearly every week for the last year, but still, you'd think that counts as "ordinary use." So if you wanted this to be a collector's item, seems you had best have left it in the box!

As for errata I would check the thread HispaZargon started for the official 2021 errata... and if it's not there please post your findings in that thread!

Re: PROPHECY OF TELOR discussion

Have we compiled a definitive list of the assets that a retail Re-release of 'Prophecy of Telor' (as a stand alone expansion) should contain? (here I'm thinking of anything that wasn't included in the retail Game System, since they can't be positive that buyers will own all of the other expansions)

Here would be my list:

Cards:
(from the book's Alchemist Shop page):
Equipment: Potion of Battle (like the one from KK/ROTWL)
Equipment: Potion of Restoration (like the one from KK/ROTWL)
Equipment: Potion of Magic (no card previously existed, 400 gold, restores 3 previously used spells)
Equipment: Potion of Healing (no card previously existed, 200 gold, restores 2 lost body points)

(also from the book):
Spell Scroll: Rock Skin (repeat from KK)
Spell Scroll: Heal Body (repeat from KK/ROTWL, good for 3 uses)
Spell Scroll: Lightning Bolt (no card previously existed, good for 3 uses)
Spell Scroll: Water of Healing (no card previously existed, good for 2 uses)

Spell Scrolls including Tempest (KK), Ball of Flame (KK/ROTWL), Courage (KK/ROTWL), Fire of Wrath (KK/ROTWL), Sleep (KK) and Genie (KK) are mentioned in the closing "Artifact Reference" section but are never actually handed out in any of the quests. So these could be bonuses I suppose or just left out (was the list a placeholder to match the "ten" given in other expansion books, and Stephen Baker ended up not needing them? many other spells and artifacts are mentioned but don't have an image at the end, of course they ARE included in the retail Game System box).

Tiles:
1 8x8 square room tile (used in 1 quest, no tile existed)
1 7x8 square room tile (used in 1 quest, no tile existed) While special tiles aren't required for these, it would be a cool opportunity to add something.

I'm not seeing any obvious places where the quest book calls for more monsters than would be available in the retail game system (even Quest 3 where you are supposed to draw a random monster card for wandering monsters will assume there are no other monsters in that room, though others could be alive elsewhere on the board).

This would be a golden opportunity to throw in some alternate sculpt monsters from the mythic tier as mentioned above, and maybe even those 7 "missing" open doors that are called for by a handful of quests from the Frozen Horror (yes, those quests actually give you some quests that will have more than 16 "open" doors at a time!).

Quest(s):
Rogar's Hall was a free online quest, and it has not yet found its way into the Companion App (it can be a little tricky to find it online too these days, but it is out there). As a bonus it could be added to the rest of Stephen Baker's remake quests (POT had "only" lucky 13 quests). Then again it has no storyline ties to it, so it would be a one off... then again it calls for using the Mentor figure and this would be a great excuse to use that again with a re-sculpt of that figure ("Mentor" as an alternate wizard was one of the pulse campaign exclusive figures, alongside prisoner Sir Ragnar and the Witch Lord). Perhaps this time he could be cast in blue plastic? Then again if it stopped being offered as a free quest online that would be a knock against it, since free quests serve to encourage people to buy the game in the first place, seeing all the content available!

And the errata fixes for Prophecy of Telor, copied from HispaZargon's excellent list here (last edited Jan 22, 2022) should be addressed...

HispaZargon wrote:Here is the updated full list of errata detected by Inn's members, short by released items in order to improve their traceability:

...
Prophecy of Telor questbook:
- Page 2: Potion of Healing and Potion of Magic cards are shown in this page but there is not any physical card included for those potions as for the rest of Alchemist Shop's items.
- Page 2: Potion of Healing cost of 200 gold coins apparently does not fit very well with the gold price of other potions. - The Potion of Healing price is probably correct but maybe the prices of the other potions would be others to fit better. More details in this post.
- Page 4: Minor misprint in word "Scorcerer" at parchment text, it should had been written "Sorcerer".
- Page 6: Alone chest shown in room at right hand side of the map has no dedicated description in page 7 and it has a spear trap next to it. - It seems to be an absurd room design since without any note the Heroes will never search the chest, moreover, if a note "this chest is empty" was writen for this chest, probably they will never go adjacent to chest because it is not required according to the rules and the trap probably would be never activated. - Fortunately Hasbro has officially confirmed here that if there's not a note about special treasure, you'll pull a treasure card just like any other room.
- Page 8: There seems to be a wayward arrow pointing down at the bottom of the page that should not exist.
- Page 9: Text indicates that Rod of Telekinesis must be taken from Equipment cards in the Armory instead from Artifacts deck, which is the correct one.
- Page 12: The room with letter D cannot be accessed in any way. - Fortunately Hasbro has officially confirmed here to Eudoxio that there is a missing door which should be placed in the map between rooms C and D, south of the fireplace.
- Page 18: Talisman bearer rules in this page do not clearly explain if Mind Points gained by bearer due to Melar/Talisman effects through the missions can permanently increase the basic number of Mind Points or not until the Melar spirit leaves the Talisman in quest #10. - According to quest note G in page 27 "...and returns their Mind Points to normal.", it seems the basic number of Mind Points can be altered by Melar/Talisman effects through the questpack, but unfortunately this clarification was not earlier explained in page 18. Nevertheless, a confirmation from Hasbro about this rule would be appreciated.
- Page 18: It is indicated that heroes may visit the Armoury but it is not said they may also visit the Alchemist's Shop.
- Page 19: The name of "Archives at Andinus" is probably incorrect since later pages 21 & 23 call them as "Archives at Arborenis", so probably "Arborenis" is the correct name for the archives. Nevertheless, an official feedback about this from Hasbro would be appreciated.
- Page 22: Letter A symbol for Note A of page 23 is not shown in the map. - I think letter A symbol should have been shown in the center room of the map.
- Page 23: Texts written in parchment, Note A and Note G seem to be incoherent. - Their content do not fit well together, since it has no sense. If the vial is broken in room A, I guess it cannot be used again because once it breaks, I may be assumed that it breaks forever since it is made of crystal, so the vial could not be used again in room G to summon Telor, in contrast to what is explained in the parchment the players must do. However, suprisingly, without using any vial in room G, Telor's spirit is summoned anyway. - There are several discussions in this thread about how this plot flaw could be fixed or interpreted (starting post here), however an official feedback about this from Hasbro would be appreciated.
- Page 28: Letter F symbol for Note F of page 29 is not shown in the map. - Lestodante suggested here that letter F should have not existed since its text seems to be just a continuation of Note E text, but confirmation from Hasbro would be very useful
- Page 29: Misprint found in parchment text: "...dungeons below Turrek Tor". Correct text would had been "...dungeons below Turekk Tor", according to pages 9, 11 & 13.
- Page 33: Note E sentence "I water of healing is cast on any monster during Zargon's turn, they are hit. You may only call out one number to save them!" has no sense as written since players cannot make any action during Zargon's turn. - The correct sentence should had been the following one: "If water of healing is cast on any monster, they are hit, but during Zargon's turn, you may only call out one number to save them!". The corrected sentence represents that casting water of healing makes easier to defeat the monsters that embraced Zargon's Flame, as already suggested in parchment, since it would reduce to 1/6 the succesful defence probability of the monster, instead of standard 1/3. Otherwise the last sentence "You may only call..." would not have had any sense as written there.
- Page 35: The Artifact Reference on this page could be confusing since some Artifacts could be listed but not used, while others are found in the quest book but could not be in the Artifact Reference since it only has room for 10 items. More details provided by Kurgan in this post.
- Page 35: In Quest #11, Note G, the heroes find a Lightning Bolt Spell Scroll, however, there is no any dedicated card shown in this page for such magical item. Moreover, it does not exist any physical card for Lightning Bolt Spell Scroll, therefore the rules for this scroll may be unknown. - Of course, the rules for this spell scroll are the ones shown in page 27 of The Crypt of the Perpetual Darkness questbook but that is not the correct place for Telor's questpack.
- Page 35: In Quest #13, Note D, the heroes find a Water of Healing Spell Scroll, however, there is no any dedicated card shown in this page for such magical item. Moreover, it does not exist any physical card for Water of Healing Spell Scroll. - Of course, the rules for this spell scroll should be the same as per Water of Healing Water Spell card

Anything else I missed?

Of course there could be some kind of bonus swag in there, which I'm all in favor of (Frozen Horror had alternate dice and character sheets as well as extra mercenaries, Mage of the Mirror had extra elf monsters and alternate furniture).

Or maybe we won't get any new plastic and this will be a "cardboard and paper only" expansion pack? I wouldn't be against such a thing, but I'm sure the lure of plastic entices many new buyers, and also as stated it would be another golden opportunity to re-release some mythic pieces, even if they are altered slightly.

It can include miniatures for Ferlmarak, Orc Boss, new Dread sorceror, Dread warriors with wall shields, maybe four Hero bases orcs... And a cardboard for the Magic arena.

I just realized... it utilizes the "Entrance/Exit" door quite frequently, so I would fully expect the box to include AT THE VERY LEAST those two plastic doors as miniature furniture. Would they be identical to the ones in KK/ROTWL? Because owners of the Mythic Tier would be using those, so it would make sense.

Or would they be re-designed as the entrance/exit doors have been in the EQP/BQP box remakes? So there finally we can presume there will be at least SOME plastics inside the box, even though they have not confirmed any contents other than the book thus far, officially. If the box is indeed the same size as KK/ROTWL that give us a sense... because those packs included 16 monsters each (and each had the two doors) plus a tile sheet and the book and cards.

Would the stretch goal extras fit (not counting the ones from Crypt of Perpetual Darkness)?
(greens):
2x goblins
2x orcs
2x Abominations
(off whites):
2x skeletons
2x mummies
2x zombies
(grays):
2x dread warriors
1x gargoyle
1x dread sorcerer

Wow, that comes out just right... 16!

Is there any need to add those extra combat dice? Not sure there is, but if they were looking to cram something else in, they could. but Probably those large tiles (probably forming 2 sheets or one large one folded over) the book and the 8 cards may be just right.
