HeroQuest II: Legacy of Sorasil

Postby DragonLord1975 » Sunday January 31st, 2016 7:56am

While searching for ideas on how to make my own maps, I stumble upon this PC game for Amiga. You get to choose one of EIGHT Heroes and go on Quests just like all HeroQuest adventures. Only trouble is I don't have an Amiga PC nor an Amiga CD32. There are 10 Quests in all.

What I was wondering is have anyone in the Forum even mapped out all 10 Levels of this game on the Game System board itself?

Man! That is a lot! Loks like I'm not the only one who wanted to make a map of all 10 of the Quests there.

Have you tried to see if it runs on an emulator. How old is it? Computer games become abandonware after so many years. There's a good chance it will be free on an Amiga emulator.

Even if my laptop DID manage to download an Amiga emulator, trying to play that game AND map it would be hard work. I want it to be 100% accurate, complete with secret doors, traps, treasure, artifacts, spells, monsters and more!

If I'm to make all 10 levels of Legacy of Sorasil, it would have to be perfectly detailed for all players to see.

getting the game to run on emulator should be the least problem.
Maybe contact Nephew of Mentor and ask if he has save state files still laying around?

But making a 100% true 1:1 map is impossible... or at least unreasonable. Those maps are HUGE!!!
The best bet is to make an approximation using the HQ board.
