If there is no ordering of FL at that time, maybe they will reveal all the content or even let you play it.

. . . "First Light" could also indicate some kind of call back to the "beginning" of HeroQuest. A character pack for Mentor? Rogar and his companions? A Prequel adventure for the original heroes (talked about in the prologues)? . . .

I think you are onto something there, but not the time frame.

I would be happy if the lore of Rogar, Durgan, Ladril and Telor were further expanded upon with another Quest Pack. Stephen Baker did mention he was working on something for Avalon Hill, and Prophecy of Telor certainly used his original lore as a starting point.

The Star of the West, worn by kings of legend in the ancient past, seems another likely artifact ready for the Baker treatment. This glittering diamond born on Rogar's brow really deserves more than what was vaguely attributed to it in Barak Tor--Barrow of the Witch Lord. Perhaps there is a story that explains why it was found at the Witch Lord's tomb. Like the Talisman of Lore, it might contain power usable by a Hero (the Barbarian).

As an educated guess, I'd expect the First Light Quests to be authored by none other than Stephen Baker. Who better to pen them than the genius behind the original Game System and the Pulse campaign remake Quests (Prophecy of Telor)? I hope I'm right, as pulling in the man who best understands the blood and bones of Hero Quest would be a very good thing for the First Light Heroquest intro system. This makes it a tempting purchase for superfans. I feel the team at Avalon Hill understands this.

I have not seen too mush news about this set beyond: 1) its a budget starter-set; and 2) it will have a few more quests.
I have the feeling that this game is going to have miniatures for the core-four Heroes while everything else—the monsters, the furniture, and doors—are ether going to be flat cardboard floor tiles and/or propped-up cardboard standees. They may even further cut costs by having a folded-up paper dungeon map.
