LOL, the geniuses have done it again. The charge is now gone from my account. According to someone on the reddit page, they called about it and were told all available stock has been shipped and there were more pre-orders than stock. I ordered the thing the day it was available, meanwhile people who ordered the "gamestop exclusive" from other places got theirs.

I see there is even a Change.org petition for Hasbro HeroQuest to go international... now I think it could have been written better, but here it is anyway.

I signed both. Better to bombard Hasbro/Avalon Hill's emails and social media accounts with this request though probably.

Fans shouldn't have to rely on their friends in other countries shipping it to them or buying from a scalper on ebay.

I have been reliably informed that Zargon's forces have slain or captured all the Knights in the Gamestop realm, and they have no estimated date when reinforcements will be arriving, but that rest assured they will come.

After reading the skill cards, the knight heavily outclasses the barbarian. The Stalwart card alone makes up for the missing body point, and there are two other skills to help reduce party damage.

Later when I viewed the unboxing pics in this thread, I noticed that the knight can wear plate mail without any movement penalty. I did a facepalm, fell to my knees and screamed at the heavens, "Why!!!!!" (Not really).

I do believe now the barbarian ranks as the worst character in the game, alongside the wizard. At least the wizard can heal and cast tempest.

I have no opinion on the bard yet, he died in the first quest of "The Prophecy of Telor", and we had to crawl out and redo the quest. The Druid seems particularly powerful though. I imagine her running around as a bear with a battle axe rolling 5 combat dice.

So for a new group, I would consider the Knight, Dwarf, Elf, and Druid.

Chances are I am not lucky enough to get my grubby mitts on this expansion, so the Barbarian still serves a purpose other than to die as quickly as possible so one of the other characters gets a weapon upgrade.

Maybe they are relying on the future release of the remake Barbarian Quest pack that buffs the Barbarian to maintain his appeal? (As if he/she wasn't buff already)

Then again if this Knight expansion is as "limited" as it appears, maybe most players will have no idea since they'll never see him/her at their tables. Unless they order a LOT of new stock, in which case maybe everyone will be awash in them...

Stalwart is cool, but it's less powerful than a standard potion of healing (or heal body spell scroll from KK/ROTWL), but granted a Knight can also stockpile those too. Mythic tier has a purchasable Potion of Healing (restoring 2 BP) available for Prophecy of Telor's Alchemist Shop.

Various folks on Reddit claim they called Gamestop and they ran out of these, but with folks saying there is no way a rep would know that, etc. Again, frustrating. It's like the HQ card game that came out for a minute - I don't get this strategy. They're leaving piles of money on the table.

Similar here, though I haven't spoken with a person.

I just sent a request for information. Shady that they'd send an email about it getting ready to "Drop Soon", then follow it up with the now infamous, "Delayed", email, then simply remove the entire order from the system without notice. A buddy of mine reports the exact same nonsense.

Fortunately I had already started making my own simple character sheets (just a word doc), with each character's abilities (or spells) listed on them. I've got plenty of minis, so folks will still be able to play as a Knight if they wish. Only real loss is is the official mini and the cards I suppose--and whatever minimal confidence I had left in GameStop.
