Oh, are they preordering Against the Ogre Hoard? Last time I checked Hasbro Pulse it never came up... But that was almost a week ago. I guess I better get on that.

I don't think they are bad rules, I see them interesting, just noticing that how they are introduced in the game is so different than anything seen before in HeroQuest.
This is not the first time we see new rule concepts in HeroQuest since the re-release of the game in year 2021, one clear example of that were the Hero Skill cards of Mythic Tier Heroes and Knight Heroes, but although they incorporated new rules, their mechanics were so similar to the casting spells mechanics, which existed since 1989 version. However, the rules for Monk's elemental styles cards look to me quite disruptive in terms of complexity. Imagine playing them by a 10 years old kid, not impossible playing correctly of course, but he/she would have clear that Fire style cannot be cast before the other three has been cast (talking in terms of spell casting, you know).

That and Rise of the Dread Moon do seem a little bit bit ADVANCED for HeroQuest. I will grant you that... but they're called expansions for a reason!
JCool, thanks for the info! So no "metal" mentioned, no change in the card text in the release version from the promo pics I see.
