Right, now to address the elephant in the room. Well, the Giant Ape actually.

First it's, well, giant! It's flippin enormous! And yet it can't be seen behind a spawnling. I am going to say that only walls, closed doors and blocked passages obstruct you seeing it.

Secondly, this giant ape with massive muscles and a huge club has ...drum roll....4 attack dice  I feel embarrassed for it. Its very clever though, but obviously not enough to learn how to fight. My quick and easy fix is just to swap the attack and mind stats. This still feels underpowered, but is better, and makes it the strongest monster.

Thirdly, I love the Giant Ape!

I may be wrong, but I believe according to the Quest Book, spawnlings do not block line of sight at all, so the Ape can indeed be seen behind them.

You are right, but it doesn't get any better putting a goblin in front, or even a chaos warrior, the point is still valid.

The spawnlings are neusense and are easily and quickly spawned by other monsters. They take up time to kill and are annoying in that sense, but the Giant Spider could spawn them quicker then the heroes can attack it.
But I'm assuming the paralysis part is just so the hero that can't move will be forced to deal with the Spawnling. Of course, it's not written like this so the heroes will have the option to do other things.

I wonder, though, does Serpent's blood prevent poisoning for the whole quest or does it need to be taken per bite?

Regardless, I'd suggest to keep the situation as real as possible. As long as the Giant Centipede isn't crawling on your face the Giant Ape should be noticeable. I don't normally play that monster block line of sight unless they're the size of Ogres. I like to go with suggested size:
Very Small, which only consist of Spawnlings.
Short, which are Goblins, Dwarves, halflings and Ice Gremlins, etc.
Medium are all normal sized monsters like Orcs, Cultists, Raptors, Elven Warriors, etc.
And then there's Large, like Ogres or the Frozen Horror.
Very small monsters don't block line of sight and don't block ranged attacks.
Small monsters don't block line of sight and debating on the angle and size of other monsters may or may not block ranged weapons.
Normal sized monsters don't block line of sight but will block ranged weapons unless it's an Ogre or Frozen Horror standing behind them. I'm Large monsters taller then an orc can be shot at. These massive monsters also block line of sight and can't be shot past.

Zargon should use discretion.

Always.

I like to keep things relatively simple, so I accept official monster blocking los rules most of the time. I have introduced my own tiny creatures such as rats out of Warhammer quest and they don't block los and can stack 3 per hex. I just found the Giant Ape a step too far for me. I may well do the same for the Ogre bosses in the new AtOH.

Bummer that European fans can only get the dice, not the tray.

And of course, Hasbro went and increased the price from the last set!

I see the metal box is bigger than the convention one, but $40 for that? I don’t even know if I can bear to buy that. I think the Dread Veil dice and mat was a bit cheaper. For this dice set I could see paying $20, but even then it seems a bit steep.
I think Hasbro is pre-scalping its own product.

That being said, the tray seems it would be nice to roll dice in, if you are sitting at the table playing with others. Its always annoying when the dice hit the board and knock stuff over, especially since the dice are often passed around the table.

Thanks for reporting!

So this was the big update while I was on vacation... but no pictures of the tray to go with this "Crystal Inclusion Set" yet?

$40 is a bit steep, but that's inflation for ya... :p

Does anyone know why the complete set isn't available in Europe?
