The Companion App has been updated today to version 2.1, but I have no idea of what they have changed... I have not still observed any major change from previous version, maybe only bugs corrections have been added.

Thanks for the update, but it looks like you still can't pass through monsters (I tossed a smoke bomb onto a goblin, then cast veil of mist on the Rogue and had him also use Dust of Disappearance on himself... and he still couldn't pass through an ordinary goblin!) just like was broken in 2.0.

No SQT, Rogar's Hall or ROTDM Style Knight yet...

I end up using Bluestacks to run the companion program, as supposedly it won't work on my phone.

Observations/Questions:

Every time they add new quest packs, I have to uninstall and reinstall in order for them to be downloadable. Anyone else have this problem?

While I like the bells and whistles of the companion, HQGM is MUCH faster to use, so I end up using both, depending on the situation.

I would think squares with treasure chests could not be occupied. HQGM recognizes this, but the Android application let me do so.

I think they should add a couple more music tracks.

Anyone else have the application crash once the Dread mist appears in Return of the Witch Lord?

It is a little odd. You are correct that by the standard rules a hero cannot occupy a square with a chest at the end of their turn, but the way the app handles traps requires you to put your icon on a chest in order to disarm it, which then leaves it possible to occupy that square without disarming.

I think the app allows characters to walk on chests because of Quest 4 of Kellar’s Keep (The Dwarven Forge) has a secret door behind a chest in the forge area. In the app, you are able to stand on the chest and open the door.

I mean the heroes could just pick up the chest and move it, like in Prince Magnus’ Gold in the game system, but its probably just easier to allow people to stand on the chest space.

Doesn't Zargon sound more like a cowardly cretin than The Great Sorcerer of Dread?

Also, how many of you ignore the computer dice rolls? At least to me, computerized random number generation is not the same as physically rolling actual dice.

I ignore the dread warrior attacks.
Mainly because in my game they only attack with three dice, not four.
Having a four die attack devalues the Gargoyle for me.
DW only have two BP as well. For same reason.

Have you found a 3 attack dice chaos warrior to be easier, or more balanced?

Or you could give the Gargoyle 5 attack dice... and 4 BP. ;)

The companion app leaving room for players to use the "Honor system" and tweak it to their homebrew desire is great.

I'm disappointed they didn't correct the "can't pass through monsters" ability in 2.0-2.1.

Today I completed quests 3 and 4 of PoT. Nothing unusual happened. I had an opportunity to cast Lightning Bolt in Quest 4, and the spell behaved normally, compared to Kassandria’s Lightning Bolt that hit everybody. When cast, it highlights all the squares next to the caster. Choosing one of these eight squares determines the spell’s path. So it seems to work from a hero’s perspective, but I have yet to see another villain cast it to see if it works properly for enemy casters too.
