Ah Ok!! bakamatt and Kurgan, you are both right. I missed the note on page 8 and the Orc Archers in quests 5 and 9. I retire all my comments about this topic, it has not been as bad introduced as I thought in a first stage. However my mistake came with the Orc Archer icons in the maps, I think they are not enough clear in terms of visualozation, I confused them with the doors and the wall lines, but Ok, really good yo know. Thanks.

I ordered it from pulse yesterday, and I begrudgingly bought the Dread Veil dice set too. Since I spent money on it, I will find some use for the weird scroll mat thing.

I was really looking forward to this new Ogre Horde expansion, but now that I know there are no new artifacts or equipment to look forward to, its kind of a bummer. A missed opportunity for sure. I know heroes shouldn’t expect any reward for saving the land repeatedly, but its sure nice to find something unique or useful for their troubles. There could have been an artifact or two that anyone could use, but would be particularly useful for a Druid or Monk for instance. The Monk set did introduce us to the World’s End Tournament after all.

All the other quest packs had something interesting for the heroes to find, or new resources to buy or use (potions, spells, etc.).
I mentioned at some point that Kellar’s Keep has nothing good to find, but they are at least unique things that are useful even if they are not exciting. In addition each hero gets 500 gold for their efforts. From what I hear so far the heroes get nothing from AtOH, except more stuff the heroes already have, like Chain Mail or a Crossbow.

So while I am glad to finally own and play this pack, if I ever run it as Zargon, I will probably throw in a Fortune’s Longsword or a homebrew artifact for the heroes to find.

Yeah I threw in fortunes longsword into kellar's as well as the phantom blade. I made them items found in the dwarven forge room.

Not sure if it's something you already have but I plan to offer power dice to my players if when they complete KK. I am making ROTWL more challenging with special "undead" rules. Maybe for beating such huge monsters and doing the arena, offering your players a dice each to show how much fighting ability they earned would be keeping with the theme of ATOH.

And I also feel this expack is very lacking in cards. As I said before, I think this was developed early on when they thought they were doing straight remakes. It does not seem like a progression from Dread as far as game play mechanics. Or alternatively, they could have used all their efforts and creativity making the arena mode. Unless someone starts talking, we may never know the reasoning behind the lack of artifacts potions treasure etc...

I feel that Jungles will be more along the lines of Dread. And who knows? Maybe it will add some artifacts for the Druids since they are now in an official realse that wasn't a Haslab.

I was thinking along the same lines. I came up with a list of all the empty treasure chests and out of the way weapons racks in KK and RotWL as possible locations to drop in the extra artifacts from the GS and from CoPD.

Nobody is perfect, I'm impressed as usually it's other people catching my errors (I made several of them looking for errors in this book too, getting confused with memories of Phoenix's version). |_P

Despite Cannes having it first, for some reason I couldn't find the French version of ATOH on pulse europe. UK version is finally arriving, according to fans on discord.

I threw in Fortunes longsword during KK as well.
I thought it was underwhelming, one re roll per game, so I made it re roll any BS per attack once.
It doesn't break the game, and if it does, I add more Gargoyles or some of my homebrew Chaos Knights (enchanted armour, A3 D6 and body 2)
My lore is they are doomguard wannabes that haven't quite progressed yet!!!!!

I wouldn't know if it's underwhelming myself because MY PLAYERS HAVEN'T USED THEM ONCE!

We will start KK Quest 9 next week and they havet used fortune longsword or the phantom blade even once since getting them in quest 4 (I think the forge quest is #4).

Really ticks me off. I guess that green cloud in ROTWL will take both those things away from them heh heh.

Sorry for the rant! by the way speaking of Ogre Horde ... Does anyone else notice that ordering straight from the company often delays shipping by like a lot? It seems that store usually gets products to customers before the actual company does. I guess it's distribution.

I have noticed that Hasbro Pulse does indeed delay shipping. I originally ordered the Wandering Monk from Pulse, but I had to wait a month longer as opposed to Amazon. Same price too. So I cancelled the one on Pulse and bought it from Amazon.
It's like Hasbro Pulse is selling to the big chain retailers first BEFORE their target audience.

I do agree, though, that Fortune's longsword is underwhelming. It's just half a notch botter then a regular Longsword. A Potion of Battle has greater potency. The only other issue with Fortune's Longsword is that it doesn't say when the hero gets to reroll, as the depends on the enemy's defense. Does the hero roll for attack, and decide to reroll before the enemy rolls on defense, or can he choose to reroll after the monster's defense?

The same could be said about the Phantom Blade, with the exception that it's unblockable, but still requires a successful roll. I think it's the Phantom Blade that pierces the armor, right? I don't have the game right in front of me and I know a bunch of daggers like the Raven's Talon and such came out in different expansions with different abilities.
