Speaking to the Spawnling question; My first thought before seeing any discussions on the matter, was that their lack of Defense, but inclusion of Body Points, implied that they were susceptible to normal attack.
In keeping with the overall simplicity of the HQ core rules, I wouldn't have even considered overflow damage impacting an infested Hero. This logic is mostly based on the contemporary (2021+) rules not having any sort of "Friendly Fire" despite huge and ranged weapons being wielded in very tight spaces without damaging allies.
Thematically, I can see the allure, and certainly the ease of homebrewing HQ is an oft touted feature of the game. I have myself, raised the point frequently.
In the case of Spawnlings, perhaps AH have invited us to consider the notion of alternate rules based on a chosen difficulty level, not to mention unthreatened movement, or as mentioned already variable ways to play Yeti Hugs..
With this in mind, having overflow damage vs Spawnlings, bleeding over onto a Hero, could fall into an "Advanced" rule category, or perhaps a higher than "Normal" difficulty level. Something I wouldn't employ with young or new players, simply because BP are such a limited player currency.
Generally speaking, with the exception of the too bright green color of our new "Jungle Faction", (I'd have preferred something a bit less jarring), I'm quite intrigued to add Jungles or Delthrak to the pile, and really stoked in the approach that AH have taken here. Not to mention my appreciation for HQ's continued development--so far anyway, none of us know the longer term future of the game's development cycle.
Looking forward to September.
