So folks like Bohemyus and Virg seem to have been right in speculating that the "fake" box cover in fact was part of a troll/tease/easter egg planned by the Avalon Hill team rather than just a clumsy hoax.

The Heroes have to travel pretty far away to get to this one. If it's a Jungle next to the World's Edge Mountains then it would be way down in what is shaped as our Africa.

I wonder what the other companion creature is. I wonder how the Spawnling works? They have so little good images on the map additions this time around, real curious about those… Seems like a bridge & a big flytrap? What else?
It seems Berserker & Explorer are basically options to replace the only heroes that have no action cards—Barbarian & Dwarf. Barbarian sacrifices 1 BP & Dwarf moves 2 BPs into Mind for their skills cards. I’d homebrew level ups to be gaining the best of both worlds—either Barbarian learns Berserker skills or Berserker works out that lost BP. Could also use them sort of as Explorer in place of starting Dwarf cuz of his equipment, & when he gets better armor & better axe switch to the base set Dwarf mini.

from an earlier Kurgan post The Saberfang appears to have the diagonal attack special ability. The inclusion is a nice throwback to the Sabertooth Tiger that never got released in the 90s.
