Not to get too far off topic but first light dice are probably red with white dice, but what if they were store coded... blue dice with yellow pips at Walmart... green with silver pips for Barnes & Noble... gold with black pips for Best Buy... orange with white pips at Home Depot... red with yellow pips at McDonalds... ?

You could try downloading it again, I've heard of some issues like that. What PDF reader are you using? (I use FoxIt, rather than Adobe Acrobat).

I see that the escape spell locations are marked in the new quest book. I was looking for an X, but it is a strange little icon that is referenced off to the side of the quest map. I cannot see why the Swamp Hag would waste her time playing the spell? It looks nice and safe until you realise that the room she goes to will have been cleared of any monsters already and her new location will be as near to the Heroes as she started. Sure, she can then run off, but with movement 4 she won't get far.

I like that she appears between 2 monsters, just not that they'll be dead and she is still on the board and very near the heroes. I'll stick with my original idea and put her in room D or the exit room. This way she'll actually disappear and the heroes will have the fun and anticipation of hunting her down and having a final battle with her.

Yeah, 8 noticed that too. It's like they thoughtlessly put the Escape reappear spot in some random room.

They did this in Wizards of Morcar too with the High Mage and a teleport trap. The high Me age appears 2 rooms back. I was thinking of not activating the Golem until Zanrath appears in that room. There's also a random teleport trap in one of the rooms that sends the hero back 2 or 3 rooms. It used to send the hero back to the beginning of the quest, that would've worked better.

It seems to me that Joe might have been thinking about D&D tactics. I recall one of his characters in a D&D podcast using Fey Step to "escape" off a careening hell-bike onto the back of a hell-bus, only about 20 feet away. Granted, the Escape location on the board is relative weaksauce for HQ play if you place the figure immediately, though this isn't necessary.

The Escape spell moves the spellcaster to a secret location on the gameboard, so the swamp hag's figure might be held in reserve until a Hero has line of sight to her. A Hero can only see her using the normal exploration rules, though she may also be immediately visible to a Hero already located in certain squares. Once visible, she has line of sight to that Hero and possibly enough space to safely cast a spell without retaliation. If no Heroes can see her, other good ideas already mentioned can be implemented by a creative Zargon: she can either safely escape to the entrance to fight another day or else shadow the Heroes until the right opportunity arises, appearing from behind and rejoin the fray for a last-ditch effort in room D.
