My first one was this:

But the coloring changed the shadow color, so unless I can change the shadow, it s another long process. Its also a bright sprite

This is the new one. The colors are clearer, the sprite is not so bright in the game.

Here is the female Barb:

And the Elf. The Elf needs some adjusting as well.

Wish I had spent more time studying graphic design and less on fixing computers. :P

Hello Lurchbrick!

Very cool of you to make this game. I have tried a few PC Heroquest games, and yours has the best graphics and sound of them all.

I do have some criticism, always in a constructive way, of the play control though. I find that the game sometimes ignores my attack command and that holding the right mouse button while pressing the left feels awkward on my hands. Sometimes it will even select another hero when I try to attack a monster, thus ending the other hero's turn and robbing me of my action completely, as reselecting the first hero makes them unable to take action.

I would suggest adding more keyboard shortcuts and/or menus to prevent the need to hold down the mouse button.

I'm on to Stage 3 tonight.

More stuff:

I'm in Quest 4, and twice now I had the game crash when I tried to have the Wizard use Water of Healing on the Barbarian. It said:

___________________________________________
ERROR in
action number 1
of Alarm Event for alarm 1
for object hero:

In script castspell:
Error in code at line 13:
global.herotype.usewandofmagic += 1;break;

Did you encounter any issues beyond Quest 7? Or have you not tried playing Quest 8 yet?

I was able to finish Quest 4. I had the Elf use Water magic instead; Heal Body worked without problems (Wizard -> Barbarian) in Quest 4 on my post-crash retry. I'll probably play #5 tonight. I started it last night but then realized it was kinda big and I needed to rest up for work.

I finished Legacy of the Orc Warlord, but wanted to redo the Talisman quest. I thought I made a copy of the save game, and went back to the talisman quest but could not find the talisman again.

When I redid the Legacy quest, I was unable to find my gear in the room so, after confirming that my other save game copies did not assist me in returning to where I was, I have restarted from the beginning.
Will let you know how I go.

My bad it was Quest 5 I started and stopped. Discovered another bug in it too: Last night it worked fine, but today the room with the throne yielded treasure cards instead of triggering the door behind the throne with the crumbling key.

Okay, figured out the Elf graphic size issue. Just need to recolor him to be more like the normal elf.

Had this error in Quest 7:
ERROR in
action number 1
of Mouse Event for Left Released
for object Door:

Error in code at line 50:

s = instance_create(pathselectid.x,pathselectid.y,heromovetoaction);
^
at position 39: Unknown variable x

It was when I was Right clicking to carry out an action and the pointer fell near the door where the zombified wizard was. Fortunately I was able to Ignore it and I can try Quest 8 in a day or 2.

Mwahahahahaaa. Hey Lurchbrick, while scouring for another alternate Genie animation, I found this site.

http://d2mods.info/resources/infinitum/ ... pter1.html

Have downloaded some Goblin gifs.

Will investigate as their may be some nice things to get and use in your game. The possibilities are endless.
