Yeah, if my wife ever just got rid of gaming stuff - even my BOX of scrap notes and pieces of ideas - without asking me,
I'd unleash a torrent of a fit that would send her to Oz.

I have a mess load of D&D PDF's, and a small number of printed adventures, as well. Most are basic D&D and AD&D.
I've stayed away from collecting the 3rd and 3.5 and above.

I would like to make conversions of actual adventures mainly because it gives a good place to start for adventures.
Especially since the already-made adventures, a lot of the time, give good descriptions to be read to the players.
These would be useful to use with my 5-1/2 year old son. Think...some of the FR low-level adventures, or anything
that can be used with the Thunder Rift setting from basic D&D (five or six adventures there, plus the full setting).

Like I said...maybe I'll get back around to this soon...we'll see. I may just pick up and use the HQ original questbook
for a few adventures, just to give my son something to do - he's been asking to play again, and I hate to keep putting
him off.

RE: Spousal Gaming Abuse or SGA

It's an under reported problem in our contemporary world--perhaps we could get a government grant to study the condition and it's long term effects in the context of legacy hand-me-downs...*Chuckle*...

Regardless, once it's gone it's gone, so not much that can be done about it now. And, I did mention this is now my Ex... Though for different reasons.

But back to the real topic...

The great thing about gaming in both the Fantasy and Sci-Fi milieu, is that there is such a wealth of inspiration to draw from. I mean D&D has established itself as the great-grand-daddy of Fantasy gaming, yet the debts it owes to Tolkien, Howard, Malory, and so on are huge. No D&D = no (or less likely), War Hammer Fantasy RPG, though arguably D&D in turn owes some credit to the original Glorantha setting I imagine, anyway no WHF = no HQ.

So it makes total sense to look for inspiration and ideas outside of the published HQ library. Thus I very much agree with you Torilen, drawing from an established work can give a great place to start an adventure, or even dare I say, an entire campaign world... The players will do their own thing and make it unique anyway...*Grin*...

I hope you get the time/motivation/itch to give it another crack... I'd be interested to see what you come up with.

maj! = Klingon word for "Good". Used in the context of "I approve".
