Larger Playing Boards (or Magnetic?)

The backing in particular stops the any of the tiles from moving at all. The weight and thickness makes them feel solid. I really love using them in our family quests.

We finally used my matt laminated 30 mm board last night. Dice rolling doesn't sound the same but for having more space, that doesn't bother me We should be gaming again with another group later this month and because they're up to KK, I need to scale up some tiles. After that I think I'll try my hand at a modular tile set (I have PDF's at the ready).

I will try to post a good quality pdf of the modular witch lord quest book that I have done and ogre horde. Then I will go back and redo the original and kk.

My daughters best friends dad has a printing business and I have spoken to him about printing out a game board on magnetic material for slicing up to make adjustable rooms.
He said he could run the rooms on any extra spaces he got when printing fridge magnet runs or similar.
Then I just need to make a border and plain tile map same size so the room configuration can be totally random.

I was trying to make a corridor tile only map, but it just didnt come out the way I wanted. Still planning to get it done as I like a random generated map that is stuck, so we can pack up and reassemble next time, without need lots of photographs of who and what was where.

I know this is an old thread, but I am a step closer to my magnetic board.
Found this site tonight, https://codepen.io/davidelrizzo/pres/Junzc?editors=1000 that allowed me to make a tile only board to copy into Photoshop and resize to make the the base.
Program is messy until you get the hang of it, but been trying to do this for ages unsuccessfully. Now I have it. And its withing .05 of a mm to my full map image when viewed over the top.

This is what I have made, to host my random rooms.

Updated the map, now has an extra two rows at the bottom.
Made a smaller HQ logo to squeeze in, with small black borders on the top and the edges.

Took a copy with me as my daughter is staying over at her friends. Had a good discussion with the dad and should have my new printed board label by next weekend.
And it will be a giant sticker pretty much so I can put on my metal platform for when I get the magnetic rooms done.

Might even create some new rooms too while I'm at it. Weird diamond shapes, or H shaped room. Mwahahahahaaa!
