Hey again guys and happy new year!

Did anybody already order a 3D printed miniature via shapeways.com made by MicroRealms. They offer HeroQuest minis in "smoothest fine detal plastic", but I am unsure about the quality. Did contact them via PM on shapeways but didn't receive an answer so far.

Maybe someone can help.

That site has crazy prices, a single Fimir for 20 usd or even more. For that price I can buy 4 original fimirs!

I have seen a couple different versions of female characters based on the old heroes.
Would love to get a set if I find them for the right price.

Hello mates. First of all congrats and thanks to all of you about the models and time spent for the thing we love.
I'm curently waiting for Pablo's minis to arrive at my door. If minis are like what i saw on the net then they'll be great and at a fair price. Though i recenlty bought my own 3d printer (the one Anderas bought as well) as i saw very positive reviews and very decent quality minis and i seriously can't wait to find the time to work on the software and print some minis but i cannnot do a thing for now cause i don't have the time due to my job as well as writing the first album of a series of soundtracks about hero quest and its expansions. Music was ready but i didn't have the time to rec.
Anyways when i finish my 1st print i'll have to remember to come back here and post the results.

3d printing has come a long way these last few years. Unless it's a crazy awesome design you can't get otherwise, I'm not inclined to fork over to have them printed anymore, not when I have family who have a printer and can print what I send them if we want for pennies on the dollar. And believe me I've spent my fair share on 3d prints in the past. The best ones I had done were through boardgamesmaker but for the price you pay, you might as well be getting them done in metal!

Some 3d files out there are really good, some are rather terrible.

I even made the mistake of buying a "colored plastic" mini from HeroForge (HUGE mistake, it was mediocre and brittle... much better to just buy the STL file for a fraction of the price).

I agree that at a certain point, just buying the original will give you a higher quality product. Resin prints look awesome but I've found them to be a little too fragile when you actually use them for play as opposed to just painting and admiring them as some people do.

So yes if you are lucky enough to own your own 3d printer you could easily have it "pay for itself" in short order, even if you're just printing stuff for yourself and your small local gaming group.

Hi all,
First actual forum post but have been a lurker for several years at the inne, and wanted to thank everyone for their immense effort in collecting everything here together!
I've just had a scroll and a read through this feed & was wondering if anything ever came of the stl files for the ogre commanders (chieftain, champion & lord)? I've had a decent search through thingiverse, cults, yeggi etc, but none of the files I can find I would say are extremely true to the original models, with only Pablo's ogres @ minis3d actually coming close (stunning models across the board). I've got a beautiful stl of the ogre warrior (six printed up for me overnight last night & I'm very excited to get them painted up), but I can't seem to find anyone else even selling accurate STLs of the ogre commanders; I recently bought myself a resin 3d printer & was looking at printing them myself opposed to buying the models from someone else.
I've tried reaching out to DungeonWorks/MonstrousEncounters via his instagram but no reply yet - but I don't think even he sells the STLs either for any of the ogres. By contrast, Pablo's etsy shop lists him as taking time out til the end of August so didn't want to disturb him etc. Any pointers would be much appreciated from the community, many thanks in advance! :)
