I forgot to comment on the figure itself.
Again, you brought out the best and more from a sculpt I - dare I say - hate(d; this particular one does not fit any style I like, cause it looks like some character from the Asterix comics).
You have an eye for colors and the combination thereof that is unbelievable. The sublety of the color choices on this... Really great!
You did it. You painted a Wardancer I like looking at.

I'll get better photos next round as I can notice some graininess in the images. Next up I aim to finish the Beastmen I showed WiP of a few weeks ago.

Thanks for the rules ideas! I'm still seeking an old school Wardancer drawing to suit the Heroquest hero card - I'm liking the 2 attack spread across all monsters in contact/or similar but giving up defence roll. Will have to playtest

Advanced Heroquest had a Wardancer Henchman. Its many abilities (and restrictions) may or may not be of interest. Included in HQ terms:

• poor ranged skill, so maybe no crossbow
• leather armor only, so no chain mail or plate mail
• flying leap- sort of passing over any one figure on anything but a black shield, but not a large monster or though a door. Also used for jumping pits and chasms, pretty much automatic success, or at least successful on anything but a black shield.
• concentrated attack- basically an extra combat die to attack
• transfix- monster rolls 1 red die for each of its Mind Points. If a 6 (or maybe 5-6) isn't rolled, the Wardancer rolls an extra combat die for attack and defense against the monster for 1 turn (may be attempted again). Undead could instead roll using Body Points. [edit]
• whirling death- 2 attacks must be directed against the same monster until it is dead or runs away. Hmm...this works better than concentrated attack using the EQP/BQP multiple attacks rule, so whirling death probably needs to work independently of it. Otherwise, just use concentrated attack or whirling death, not both.[edit]
• taunt- monster rolls 1 red die for each of its Mind Points. If a 6 (or maybe 5-6) isn't rolled the monster must move towards the Wardancer on its turn for an adjacent attack.
