Just to be clear, I already have about half the suitable replacement miniatures. I got them last year for Christmas. Reaper miniatures can be a wonderful place. I was told that some of the figures I got didn’t cost anything because she spent enough money to get free miniatures and paint.

I just picked up Descent and 3 expansions for €50. Some great figures in the here. The character figures are probably a little small for Heroquest.

Is the game itself any good?

I don’t know but I’ve always wanted to find out if it was.

I hear that 1st edition had some fatal issues, but 2nd edition works well.

Just picked up Dungeons and dragons Temple of elemental evil.

Gonna have to look at that one myself, aaronAGN. Are they comparable scale to HQ/Warhammer? I haven't seen a DnD mini in person recently.

Careful, these are humongous.
2x2 squares is too hefty for a regular HQ board.
You could put the standing one on 2x1 squares and the Handler, too, but only awkwardly.
