Panchos' Spring Collection

This is the model I'll use as my Ranger. A variant of the Elf Hero, with the same basic stats but instead of the elemental or Elf spells, he will have his choice of any three of the Forest spells, by Ethica http://english.yeoldeinn.com/downloads/ ... spells.pdf. I'd be grateful if some of you could comment on these spells, as the are pretty powerful and probably requiring tweaking.


I believe it's a plastic Warhammer wood elf archer, to which I have just added a shield. The shield art is based on images of the Green Man from mythology and folklore.

Black orcs! I'm planning to add these to Kellars' Keep here and there to increase the player's interest level. I'm thinking Move 7, Attack 4, Defence 4, Body 1, Mind 1; and they will directly replace chaos warriors or Fimirs, in some rooms in some quests. If anybody could tell me who made these model I'd be very grateful.

It featured a sprue with 6 bodies (Elf, Dark Elf, Orc, Goblin, Dwarf and Skaven) and 12 heads (2 for each race) that you could assemble to create your models.
Pancho, I've seen in your blog you have a pic with all the monsters and villains painted, featuring the Witch Lord too.
Can you post a pic of your Witch Lord? I've never seen one painted yet!

Ah yes, I remember that Boxed set from waaaaayyy back. I actually just experienced a massive wave of nostalgia from reading your post. I never bought it but I do definitely remember that set

Somehow I have in my collection 5 out of 6 of those bodies along with most of the heads, only missing the Dark Elves (I'll have a keep a close look out for that one). They do indeed make great additions to Heroquest.

As for the Witch Lord, I'm afraid I only have this pic on available at the moment;

I do have a number of much better photos of Witchy on my tablet, but I left the cable at work and won't be able to upload them until after the Easter holidays. I'll definitely post them to you then, as it really is a great model and the photo above doesn't do it justice.

And speaking of models from the Warhammer Fantasy Regiments Boxed set, I've finished the Dwarves. For such an old plastic set, the heads really fit the bodies well (same for the orcs, goblins and elves too), far better than many modern sets. I really like this dwarf model in particular, so much so that I painted it in the exact same colours as my original Dwarf Hero with the aim of substituting it in later quests when the Dwarf gains more equipment.

The mimic on the right was an joy to paint, and has become one of my favourite miniatures. Now, if only I can lure some Heroes into my trap....

And finally for today, this female Elf (Sorceress). Another Deep Cuts miniature, I can use her as either the female Elf from Mage of the Mirror or maybe as a alternative to the Wizard Hero.


I'm still in two minds whether or not to add some details to her cloak. Maybe a lightning bolt or two, but I'm not sure.


I now only have 4 models left to paint from the opening post; my female Elf (warrior version), and three of the Advanced Heroquest Heroes. I'm really looking forward to painting all of these.

Thanks, as I sayd before your Witch Lord is the first one I can see painted. I see you applied some very nice effects on staff, knife and leg armour.
Also, Mentor's Loretome looks painted with lot of details, I am impressed!
As for your Dwarf, did you sculpt some of the parts on your own or did you combined other miniatures pieces?

A bit of both. The hands/arms are the original arms, just completely repositioned and carved to make a better fit, then filler used to smooth out the gaps. The hammer and shield are from the dwarf in the fantasy regiments box you told me about.
