If you're shooting for realism, an underhanded thrusting blade is held in front of the chest, point-out. Its a great way to stab someone that gets too close.

For my vote, arm him with a curved sword in his right hand, and a ready-to-lob ball of flame in his left.

I'm fine with either way, in the left hand, or in the right. Wich you ever decide, will turn out awezome :)

Curved sword in the left hand, backwards. Aligned with his back, not pointing out too far backwards like a dagger. Imagine a ninja :P

ampersand wrote:hey guys. my updates have been really thin as of late. blame this on the fact im a family man and xmas is just around the corner.
i have a little update with a WIP of the elf im working on. and id like you opinions on something

that looks awesome already!
my vote would be a curved elven sword in the right hand, the left held as if he's holding an invisible ball - ready to cast a spell.
oh also, that bit of material between his legs (no clue what to call it) i would make that a bit longer to just above the knees (i appreciate that might make the casting more difficult though)

the new elf is looking great! two swords is a class idea

here is my Wood Elf conversion from last year. He is a Blood Bowl figure which is about the same era and size as Heroquest.

I looked everywhere for suitable arms in the modern GW ranges - but the best fit was goblin sword arms!

I didn't have the courage to paint him though...

ahhh man. as if i wasnt confused enough how to finish this guy up. then grimcrazy goes and shows me the wonders of goblins arms! now im really lost what to do! hehe

ok firstly i gave 2 options. that seems to of grown now to... (exluding 2 swords because im not doing that)

1. sword in right hand facing forwards. left hand balancing
2. sword in left hand facing backward (ninja style) left hand balancing
3. sword in right hand facing forwards left hand about to cast a spell
4. sword in left hand right hand about to cast a spell.

firstly number 1 was my original intention when i first made a start on this guy.
number 2 then become my undecided idea
and 3 and 4 came from you guys.
.
.
.
so heres number 5
5. sword in right hand facing backwards, left hand clutching a imaginary fireball (sort of like an underarm concealed spell ready to be unleashed)

this way i get to keep my ninja arm thing going on. as well as giving the possible illusion he's casting a spell.

what you think?

I cast my vote for #5.

either 4 or 5, so long as one hand is holding a curved elven sword and the other is casting! :p
